Depending on your phone platform, there are a few 1/2 way decent smart phone apps out on the market that you may want to look at. I know that they are not as good as a stand alone system, but they can get you close. I use Photone for iPhone, had to pay $5 USD for the LED full spectrum function but the app it’s self is free.
I actually have this app myself, figured that it wasn’t as good as a stand-alone meter but better than nothing!
Ya that’s what I was thinking as well. The new gen iPhones have very good optic in the camera lens, I think it’s come down also to the defuser media that you use, ie copy paper, tissue, etc. that can also make a difference in a reading. One day I may get a stand alone unit.
considering No Till / Living Soil haven’t really decided - I do know if I start this one can product a beter tasting end result !!! Yields were my top concern now-a-days taste is will “sufffer” with smaller yields for better taste and MUCH healthier for my body (lungs)
It would be handy to cross check to a stand alone meter on a few intensities. The least would be to give you some piece of mind.
You could also work out a correction function if you really want to nail it down & totally geek out…
Cheers

(For some reason this did not post yesterday…)
I had done a bunch of defoliation so hopefully some more tops can grow up through the screen in the next number of days.
Last night was the first 12 hour night they have seen.
man that is filling in nicely! i’ll be real interested to get your thoughts on the bed vs. the individual pots when this is all said and done @bassman5420
Ooh man, its not even a comparison lol. Bed all the way, I am loving it so far. My only issue was starting by putting upset plants into the bed that needed some serious recovery. If I would have put healthy plants into the bed, it would have been a whole different ball game all together and the tent would be 100% wall to wall filled out and I would have flowered even sooner.
I wish everything was being run in beds/large pots, but I have to be able to stage a bit so I can actually put them into the beds heh. Timing my plants and keeping them happy for long enough in the small pots will be most of my challenge besides making sure I don’t keep hurting batches of newer plants like I have lol.
Finally seeing some signs of recovery in the 2x4. Hopefully it will dig in and start pumping so I can get them trained more and ready to go.
WOOOOOO notill babyy
Probed the bed with my moisture meter and it came in a little low in a number of areas. So after seeing that I decided to spray another 2+ gallons in there, but I assume it will need some more. Ill check the moisture level again later to see how well it did for the drier areas/depths and hope it will be good enough till I get these seeds sprouted for some SST.
Looking good man!
I agree, so far I am loving my soil bed too. I still have lots of questions on how to amend for my next grow, but so far I am liking the few extra days between waterings lol.
Hell ya, once they dig into the bed a little bit, it just engages cruise control heh.
Spring chickens again!!
Glad to see they are happy again pal! Any fancy sprayer for watering? Keep it up!
its looking good in here.
I use a 3.5 gallon chapin sprayer and I have been loving that thing.
@bassman5420 talk to me dude, I’m thinking about dropping in on that chapin sprayer, currently using a vivosun plastic 2 gal sprayer. Is it worth the coin??
The only other experience I have with sprayers is a 2 gallon sprayer from ace hardware that I sprayed vinegar on thistles with lol. But that being said, this is 10x better. I got the sprayer with my build a soil points I had racked up from buying other things, so the sprayer ended up being free in that aspect. I was planning on getting one long before that but I am very happy with it. I got the red model 1949 sprayer.
