I hear ya I when I think of living a life in balance I picture a pendulum not a scale. The pendulum at the Smithsonian Museum travels in a circle in a 24 hour period. With that in mind, I picture a balanced life as one where sometimes work may be my primary concern, then maybe starts swings to my wife as being the primary balance, then my kid, next the dog etc. Not that any of these subjects are ever forgotten, just they may not be my primary focus. I hope this makes sense… Btw I am a dick too, like racist jokes, but as I tell my son all the time “Know your audience”.
