I just found this thread and this is so cool! I am looking to get my veg tent in order so maybe I can get in next week! Just to make sure I read everything correctly, you have to answer each question on the specific date which would mean I can not participate in week 2 now that it has already started but can when week 3 questions start?
Between 71-78 degrees
For me, it depends on the season. My floor is a lot cooler in the winter.
Thanks @MarsHydro

Edit: Additionally itâs a good sign that the moment is ânowâ when this thread starts to stack on the comments.
I guess my question is, do you have to answer all three questions for that week to qualify? Thank you for linking that because I missed it when scrolling through the comments.
Edit: Thank you @Pigeonman! I am going to play along and hopefully I qualify but if not, no biggie!
#2 yes I do.

From what is written, I assume it may be 3x heating mats with 3x sets of time-period and question based entry opportunities which would eventually enable 3x OGers to have an even better set-up for germination and/or thermal regulation of root mass and/or brewing and/or reptile care and/or etc.
Question #2 - I do not have experience with a heating mat but I can see the benefit in using one. Being that I have warm areas in the house that will get me by, a heating mat has been lower on my list of items to purchase. I have had my seedlings get cold during germination which slowed them down but they still germinated. I think having a heating mat would solve this issue in the future and would encourage faster and healthier germination/root development. @MarsHydro thank you for the chance to win these great prizes!
A heat mat can be used for seeds, clones, to help keep a pet warm during cold spells, or to comfort a strained back by using as a back warmer.
- yes I do need a heat mat. My basement, where I germinate, is very cold in winter.
Can keep baby chicks warm
When making tincture it can be used to purge off the alcohol
can be used for Mushroom growâŚ
- Do you think you need to use a heating mat for seed germination in winter?
Yes, using a heat mat during colder months will keep the seedlings warm and safe.
Do you think you need to use a heating mat for seed germination in winter?
Not if your ambient temperature is within the sweet spot range.
What else can a heating mat be used for?
Cobbing(fermenting) your harvest, Malawi style (that is if there is some control on the temperature setting)
Entry for 11/12-11/13
A heat mat, other than for plants, can be used for mycology work, reptiles/amphibians, fishtanks, and a warm place to sit if the ground/surface is cold lol. Thereâs many uses. I actually could use another mat
question n2:Yes,a seed mat that keeps the temperature away from swings helps a lot with consistency, during Winter Is very important.
Depending on the ambient temperature it is not necessary but it improves success rate and speed
71-75âf. Possibly if the leds donât keep things as warm as the hid lights have always kept things.
I used mine last Winter to keep a Winter born baby goat alive.
@Hemp @beardedvet222 @BeeLady
Germination temps for seeds are 22c to 25c (71f to 77f)

Just wanted to be sure I didnât jump the gun.
Thanks much!!
Answer 3: a heat mat can also be used to ease my aching hunchback
