I’m growing in mini octopots with jacks 123 and made an error adding ph down instead of up. I added 3-4 ml of ph down , then realized my error and added 3-4 ml and then some of ph up. This is for four gallons of nutrient mix so each gallon will have a ml or more of each ph up and down. Is this too much or totally kosher? Should I dump and remix? Sorry if this is remedial. Plants have about three weeks left give or take. I’m pretty new to this but plants look great and I don’t want to screw it up at this late juncture.
I would dump and remix, don’t know what pH up and down are you using but upon their components, too much of some of them would alter the feeding …
Appreciate @George1961. That was my thought too. I’m too deep and don’t want to mess these plants up at this point. Some bud porn for ya…Mephisto Double Grape x Sour Stomper.
Thanks man!
It depends… Unless your pH dropped so low that you had undissolved solids fall out to the bottom of your res it should be fine. I would just stabilize the pH at the number I am seeking and use it. You did not say what type of pH up and down ypu use: For pH up you may have added extra phosphoric acid which is high in phosphorus and perfect for flowering. Then for pH down you may have added Potassium Hydroxide… high in Potassium which is also good for flowering. I have flubbed my mixes like this a dozen times and never had an issue using the fertilizer unless I noticed actual fallout appear in my res.
If you own a ph meter then just keep adjusting with both ph up and down until your happy.
Cool cool. This was exactly what I was after. Was wondering if the extra salts would be an issue. I did end up dumping out of an abundance of caution, but likely would have been fine letting it ride. I’m sure I get a feel for what I can get away with over time, but I’m not yet too experienced and the plants are looking really good so far. Thanks for all of the input everybody. Its why I love this place. Lots of experienced old heads whereas with hydro I’m a bit of an infant.
