So has everyone switched to white light? No more blue red (burple)? If so, is that because they are “better” or because that is what the light manufacturers are selling? Im not trying to be a dick, im asking an honest question.
From “stuff” that I’ve read, white lights are more efficient across the entire life of the growth but more so during flowering, so the thought was to go to these rather than swapping out the blue/white(veg) to red/white(for flowering) Pretty much all of these newer white lights include some red ir led’s to cover that spectrum. Keep in mind that I’m mostly “ignert” and might have missed some other info in there.
Why don’t companies make lights that fit corner to corner in tents? This is thenonly light I’ve been able to find that would fit a 2x4 basically corner to corner. Uses the smaller Samsung LED but kicks out good numbers…and is affordable.

Not gonna lie I wouldn’t want so much blue and so little red in anything I flowered under. Not saying it’s a bad light, just not one I’d grow pot with, probably fine for peppers, tomatoes etc
Yeah but plenty of full cycle leds with a good balance of blue and red/far red, the cooler spectrum led(samphon) I used to run next to a more standard weed spectrum led(mars) had significantly less frost on the buds running the same genetics on each side of the tent. I ain’t got labs on nothing but I see the same looking at peoples stuff grown under viparspectras(also very blue/cool white) which again are perfectly serviceable lights but produce mediocre flower.
Full spectrum led’s are much more efficient than blue/red ones. They produce significantly more light per watt, produce less heat and provide the plant with a much more sun like spectrum. The idea that plants only use blue for grow and red for flower is out of date.
