Share Your Tips on Growing For QUALITY, Not Yield

What about bud boosters? I know there is conflicted info on this, but due to previous low watt lights, I have never had real tight buds. I need something to make bigger but mostly heavier more rock hard type buds. I know also it depends on genetics, but I have grown variety for sure.

Botanists and horticulturalists will tell you elicitation is the answer.
But nobody ever wants to hear that. :pensive:

Here comes shag :eyes::purple_heart:

For me, I do use a sugar source, a biostimulant of sorts, and up p and k during flower. I do this through flavuh and expand by ventana. Expand is cheaper and goes a long way. It’s 0-4-4. Barley malt extract and something I can’t recall right this second. That and I’ve tended to notice that plants can take a decent amount of ppfd if being watered well and whatnot. I’d get em closer to the light and see if it helps. Ambient CO2 is often higher than folks realize. All that said, a booster won’t help if your plants are already taking in the max they can! Long-winded response over

That is a good way to increase quality.

Proper light quality and quantity is another.

Get Photone and be sure.

I think that in this case, friend, there is nothing that can be left aside. Everything will interfere, starting with genetics… When you have a good quality seed in your hands, then you should worry about nutrition, then lighting, then temperature, then air rotation, then… … he knows? It’s as if each factor were a part of the side of a bucket, and when everything isn’t filled with quality, the contents of the bucket end up leaking. Famous minimum law. Not to mention that when we talk about nutrition, there is another bucket with several other questions. In short, I think that thinking about the quality of genetics you are already halfway there, then lighting and then temperature and humidity. Then you will swim in the issue of nutrition and then there is no way back! Good luck

Photone for me overestimates by 10-15% !!

But consistent

Well it’s not perfect but as a guide.

Sounds like you OP want sativa based stuff if I’m reading you right. No amount of indica based genetics will get you there.

I am just throwing the question out there to get opinions flowing. This is because I personally feel certain methods improve quality, and it is a nice debate to enlighten the community in something other than yield.

I’ve even seen studies that show music affects the expression and growth of a plant. It is all interesting to think about and a community like this may shed new light!

There’s this disconnect between “I want super dense frosty nugs” and “I want a nice up soaring high.” They do different things.

And there’s no big trick. Give them the environment they need, give them what they want, then kill them.

Quality is based off of cannabinoid production correct?
So then to increase quality you need to increase cannabioid production correct?

Stress incourages resin production, I’m saying don’t give them water or food the last 4 weeks. I do grow outdoors ,in amended soil.

Oh yeah then how come I’m not covered in resin?

This is such a cool nature/nurture discussion. The differences in opinions and experiences seem to indicate that there is no single “right way.”

Simpletons like me are always looking for a highly formulaic approach so there is a one fits all solution. Apparently that is not the case.

OG teaches me something new every day.

Well if it’s undetermined fluid I’d get it checked out.

My environment is so variable and I have no control over it to when it gets 13C and 95F

Humidity 30-70

Couldn’t manipulate if I wanted.

No big deal.

Start with some tries and true genetics, Bodhi fan boy over here.

I have perfect indicas. I have perfect sativas. They are not even close to the same thing.

So quality is a tough cross to bear on this one.
