Well, this growing cycle has come to an end. Harvest took place on the 70th day of 12/12, i.e. a full 10 weeks of flowering. Field Trip and Snow Ripper x Chem DD could stand for another week, but keeping the tent is too much for them, especially since they got into the “harvest window” - trichomes are milky and amber, there are no transparent ones.

all that remains is to dry and weigh the plants, treat the crop and write a smoke report…
conclusions as a whole about the cycle will be later, but about cultivation and some selection can be made now.
as I already mentioned, I left one male plant from each of the varieties (I don’t practice open pollination because I need to know who is the father and what traits can be passed on to the next generation) with traits that, in my humble opinion and my taste, are desired in the future.
as for female plants, everything is a bit more complicated here.
C99 - left 4 plants to obtain f2 and this is why - according to the structure, only two plants have a more or less desired structure, but the smell of all plants is different. for me it is quite strange and I will say frankly in my practice it is the first time when 4 f1 female plants from one pack have absolutely different smells. Therefore, I decided to wait for the end of the treatment stage in the refrigerator for at least a month to determine which of the smells and tastes will be to my liking, and in the meantime, just in case, make f2 from all of them…
SM#6 BX#1 - the two female plants were killed almost immediately after the 12/12 transfer because they showed signs of germy (I’m usually tolerant of germy, especially since the cycle was not for nut production and unwanted pollination could not have occurred, however since I probably have more than 1,000 SM#6 BX#1 nuts, there is no reason to mess with the hermi in this cycle, besides there was no free space in the tent). Of the remaining females, I selected two #3, which has an incredibly sweet smell of duchess pear, and #6, which I call 12 Monkeys - because this is the stickiest plant of the last few years, incredible resin production even for plants like GG4 or her parents - SM. The impression is that she was simply soaked in honey. This is a find for me, the last time I found such a treasure was 7 years ago in a pack of Cheese Quake from SubCool (this mother did not survive the war, froze and I lost her). However, I have crosses with her (Cheese Quake) and it seems even with the father Space Monkey #3, maybe this will be one of the future projects of 12 Monkeys x (Cheese Quake x SM#3).
next Face off BX2 x Sour OG - this is my old cross, about which you probably need to tell in a little more detail. As a mother, the “hard rock” phenotype of Face off BX2 was used - in general, Face off, in my experience, is not at all a commercial cross with a weak structure with small cones and thin branches, but with a super powerful initial high, in my eyes it simply destroyed the consciousness of even heavy smokers . For those with an average level of tolerance, driving usually ended in vomiting and a pale/green-faced couch potato. I had two keepers #1 “hard rock” phenotype had a smaller but firmer, rocky bump and smelled of earth and rotten lemon and #2 “cellar” phenotype as it had the smell of raw cellar earth and a slightly larger bump. As for the parent of Cali Connection’s Sour OG (aka 818), this has also been one of my favorite plants for a very long time, one that I have enjoyed smoking and used in many of my crosses, and I will now explain why. Most breeders look for and use a recessive sire in their crosses to preserve the mother’s characteristics as much as possible, and in the f1 generation, the sire’s traits were not visible, except for a possible increase in resin and size, and sometimes smell. 818, on the other hand, is an insanely dominant sire, 99 times out of 100 in generation f1 the structure will be 818, even in subsequent generations 818 is very reluctant to give up its structure. I once made a Black Chem BX2 cross, conditionally BCBX2 = BC x (BC x (BC x 818)), so 9 plants out of 10 have a structure of 818! that’s how reluctantly this plant gives up its structure. Therefore, you can put several layers on it as a hanger in the closet, but it will remain the same. Or like a skeleton, put on several layers of muscles and skin, and the structure will remain the same.
All other indicators were also at a very high level. As for the effect, 818 had a similar effect to Face off. The beginning was also very powerful and intense, but not so much as to be absolutely devastating (though it also depended on the dose), followed by a long light and active plateau.
Therefore, to put it simply, Face off BX2 x Sour OG is an attempt to add to the structure of Sour OG (which is already a great plant by all accounts) an unappealing, expansive, uncontrollable initial high, which Face off BX2 owns.
