Specifics of growing a haze - flowering, training

Yeah that’s the conclusion I came to. It doesn’t fit the circumstances of the situation though, because there were 14 or so branches all 100% Staminate Flowers. When the plant was reduced to its lowest 4 branches one of those turned completely Female. No pollen sacks at all.

well my thought is all plants will try to save their genes and grow again if compromised and in order for a male to do that it has to throw out female flowers

Sounds like nanners would have followed.

@toastyjakes Right, I am quick to side with your view, as it makes the most sense from a common-sense view of procreation and evolution. But the idea behind all of the feminized seeds teks is the stress inhibits Ethylene production, which turns the plants into males by default.

If stress in general, turns a plant into a hermaphrodite by default, what is the process that controls this phenomenon?

@99PerCent I’m not so sure.
The plant was 100% male on every node of 13 or so different branches, and it was not until I removed the top ~10 branches in order to manage pollen production that the first female flower was produced. General rule of thumb as I’m sure you know is “never remove more than 30% at once.” So stress cannot be disregarded.
Plus it was not just one flower, nor was it a nanner – a dual male/female flower – nor was it spread across the remaining branches consistently. One of the four branches started producing a vast majority of purely pistillate flowers, to the extent I questioned whether I had ever seen the pollen sacks.
In order to avoid revising my entire understanding of how plant hormones work, I have concluded this was a hermaphrodite plant from the start and I had just not noticed.

stress production only turns female plants male by default because that’s what they need to produce seeds… stress inhibited ethylene production on a male would cause it to stress to throw female flowers…

I’ve never really stressed them to a point of finding out myself but i imagine, being as simple as possible, that it’s a similar process

For sure, no way to be sure what was coming next from that beast.
