Ok…
. No germination from pack-1. Not one after a week.
Each seed was directly sewn into the seed-starter mix.
Going to keep trying with those,but 10 out of 10 are no shows.
Seed excavation reveals no signs of progress whatsoever.
I’m going to mix up the H2O2 seed starter solution and scuff the next batch.
Mulligan on this one.

Yeah now i scuff then i do like 1/4 h202 to RO water. Then i do the paper towel method with a seedling mat and that usually sprouts them.

I’ve had damn good luck coaxing life out of lifeless seeds w/ good ole mister sunshine. Before I call it quits I put the pot/tray/paper towel, or whatever in a plastic bag in a sunny window. More times than not… .a few shy seedlings will show themselves… often within couple of days. Can’t explain it… temps the same… soil the same… moisture the same… something about the sun makes the magic happen.

Well…things are not looking good. I’m still trying to get them going, but so far, I’ve tried to germinate both the TGA 10-packs from Hemp-Depot and I’ve even got the remainder of my original Nurse Jackie 5-pack from 2021.
Seed scuffing, H202:Distilled water starter soak for 48-hours, even froze and thawed a set.
Nada… No joy….
Still got em in damp paper-towels in plastic bags in the window seal…but off to a stumbling start here….

I put mine in paper towels, in a zip lock, on a metal tray, covered with a towel on top and bottom. Then on top of my heat vent.
Window sill may have a draft, this time of year. Sun heats it, then draft might be cooling them down. Not keeping consistent temp… just a thought…

I had similar issues getting an old pack of TGA Timewreck to germ as well as HGNW Dr Who with the old TGA packaging, I suspected improper storage might have been the culprit
I had other packs I got around the same time germ with around 75% coming up but they were sourced from different people, so I can’t vouch for how well they were stored before I got them in hand sadly
Fingers crossed even a couple end up sprouting !
I’ve also had older beans germ fine just very slowly, so don’t give up hope yet

JohnnyPotseed has a germ method with worm castings that has worked well for me with old seeds.

It’s ok @Longtooth. I understand your discouragement and bummer quite well. Sometimes these things happen and there may be nothing we can do about them. We can however keep on trucking while not letting it get us down. I’ve lost my fair share of awesome genetics to time, storage, germ methods, bogus seeds or whatever. I think these little losses just make us better winners in the end. I’m rooting for you man, always have been and always will be.

Sometimes it helps to manually crack the seeds after about 24-36 hrs. This has saved a lot of seeds for me that I would’ve otherwise chalked as a loss.
