The Central American landrace and heirloom thread (Part 2)

Isn’t cassowary the one that disembowels you with a big claw?

I’ve popped some Snowhigh Co-co Loco for repro - just started…

Anyone run these ?

Yep that’s the one, they are like a velociraptor with long claws and they are aggressive, I’ve had to run from them a few times. The females will hunt you down if they have a nest or young anywhere near.
Every now and then you hear of someone being disemboweled by one.

Whaa

Welcome aboard @Som

Great plans , and I for one old like to follow.

Please feel free to keep us all posted…as I’m sure a few folks on this thread will appreciate that.

Sounds like a good one. Never seen it grown.

Pearl stems (three ladies) grew into the light and I had to raise it today.

Oh yeah, I always forget to post this, but it’s pretty normal temperature and humidity for me.

I’ll post pictures of the clones. I just up-potted one for an outdoors grow later this spring and will probably regrow all three of them. Neighbors won’t notice because at a distance it’s virtually identical to sage for a casual viewer. I’ve got that stuff all over the property.

@rasterman Your Oaxaca pearlstems look great. :grinning:

Thanks @PineTarBastard! I’m pretty excited about being able to grow something outside that can hack it up here. This is my fourth season, so it’s about time.

Stoked you got these to pop, I’ve got a pack as well I’ll shoot out to ya if you want more as I’ve been saving them for a proper repro and I’ll never get to all the stuff I’m saving to one day repro.

The '93 Mexican Allstar is on day 57. It probably has around 10 days left.

Some raggedy looking, heavily seeded early '90s Mexican brick weed. There will be lots of f3s:

Guadalajara female. She’s a good one😁

Those plants are really gorgeous. I am envious … of the good kind. Keep them mexican ladies and gentlemen alive for future cultured generations.

Liking the look of that one @Upstate. Doesn’t quite look like she’s ready for a microwave sample though

It’s been a week since harvest, and my Red Snake is almost dry - dry enough to roll a nice fatty. Fantastic joint weed. Rolls really nice, and generates a lot of resin, so the doob tasted awesome all the way down.

It had a peppery taste, and a dry pull gave mild pine and peppermint maybe. So I smoked the whole thing and it took me straight back to the '80s! :fire::fire::older_man: And that’s for what’s probably an early harvest.

That’s for pieces of two of the first three I grew. I’m imagining what’s downstream of these ladies. Now I just need room to grow more of them. :sob::crazy_face::point_left:

Those of you twenty years from retirement may not have experienced the joy of rolling up a doobie like this. It definitely offers an '80s experience. I just have to plant a lot of seeds for the 1982 experience.

I admit she’s not the prettiest corpse you ever saw. But she’s not going to be around very long, trust me.

I take it back. I don’t have to find a unicorn. This is fantastic. I’ve been mixing them together though, so I have to get organized and test each pheno in case one is better.

Sorry, I know I’m blathering on, but I’ve been looking for this for a few years. :+1::+1:

Lol. Not quite yet🤣

Me too, but more importantly, @Elchischas likes the look of it . Looks like a pure Mexican strain from Jalisco.
@rasterman congrats finding what you were seeking! That’s no small task when it comes to that special weed of yesteryear. I’ve got to get myself on the Snake Train one of these days. I know I’ll love it. Oaxaca’s are looking good too! You’re in for another treat😁

Ha! I harvested 3 small Oaxaca plants a few weeks back, and my last bud will be smoked today😪 at work. I need to grow a Oaxaca tree or 2 this summer.

Yep, that’s the real deal when it comes to landrace strains

These are clones of the three fine-ass ladies I just harvested.

Up-potted them into the same soil their moms used and amended heavily.

I’m bringing them inside at night and taking them out during the day until they get established.
