Has anyone tried to make any of there own how did you do it ?did they work as good as store bought? I’m now using a preventive but still like them around but be pretty cool to whip em up maybe like yellow construction paper and what would anyone recommend for adhesive that doesn’t smell crazy ? Let’s talk !!
I’ve heard of Vaseline on yellow paper
Interesting think it would warm up and melt off or dry out?
As long as you don’t put it in the oven or the freezer you should be good.
Just try not to get Vaseline on everything.
I’ll give it a. Try forsure
I’ve been having good luck trapping gnats-
I use 1/2 cup hot water 3 TBS apple cider vinegar, 2 TBS dish soap 2 TBS sugar, stir it up and fill saucers.
The gnats can’t resist the sweet vinegar-
But they’re screwed when they get soapy water on them…
I’ll give a try I’m using a new product to me a couple buddys swear by a week ago and a half ago I added it and today I’ve seen nothing no gnats flying no gnats in my traps
Apple cider in small Togo container. Put some small holes in them. Molasses and water works for me. Then neem oil the soil. The molasses honeys the soil. Makes it crusty. Imop.
Dr earth makes some stiff that kills them fast. Has oils in it. Like cinnamon, wintergreen and some other stuff. It’s hot so it kills fast. Fans work good to keep them back. They will crawl.
Tree Tanglefoot is the sticky stuff to use for homemade traps.
Use a putty knife (wear gloves because it IS sticky) to spread a thin layer on yellow or blue plastic file folders. Paper folders don’t last long.
I had good luck with these.
but used the sticky traps to see if they come around after.
Why are you messing about making them, Amazon have 90 sheets 8x6 inch double sided yellow stickers for $22 with a $2 off coupon.
I used these until I got some predator mites 2 years ago, since then I have not needed to use a sticker, the mites are still doing there thing, so long as there are a few gnats left to keep them fed.
I get these yellow sheets like 4x8 at work for free so jus thinkin if I can spend 22 bucks on adhesive and have hundreds on hand as needed be cool to his there own might give cpl of my buddys some when done for free to pass on the love
I’m now using predator mites as well
I’m feeding molasses in flower with teas now I’m using some predator mites in the soil so cross fingers no more
I use the blue ones and yellow. They are cheap. They did sell that stuff at Home Depot at one time. The yellow trees. @Birdredeye don’t go cheap. If you can. Sometimes the simplest stuff is your most important.
