100g reservoir ideas?

Finally moving to an automated feeding system and need a 100-125g res. I see all these flexible options I can order online and Have shipped as I’m struggling to find things local. Has anyone used these? I’m worried about them springing a leak! Pumps going to sit inside with a hose coming out top. I need no need to have it raised or have a drain in bottom (one more thing I worry will eventually leak )

Any tips or options appreciated

They have those big square ones with cages around them.

Those are nice, and even have valves at the bottom in some cases. But the smallest one I’ve came across is 300 gallons.

Go big or go home :joy: I’m not a reservoir type so I really don’t know.

How about a kiddie pool? So crazy it might work.

Not sure I’d be comfortable with 100g in a bag.

That’s how I thought of those flexible res, like a bag. They make 75g rubbermaids that even have wheels on one end… they’re just long and not high and I’m trying to fit two in a room. May so screw it though and just go that route

Or maybe even this, but again drain makes me nervous…

96 gallon trash cans work great, but may not be feasible indoors, I love mine but it’s outdoors.

I have one in my closet. It’s for hydro. It’s rectangular and huge!

I haven’t used it though.
Edit this is it. image

Stick with what the pros (farmers) use, these are indestructible, insulated, double walled, and ported for a hose already

You just need one of these to convert the nonstandard drain plug fitting to normal plumbing, thanks ice bath people! These are popular for DIYing those with:

Or just use a flexible rubber plumbing fitting to clamp onto the stock spout and adapt it to PVC or whatever

Saw that drain just made me nervous of leaks.

Ah were you gonna use a sealed reservoir and pump it out instead of gravity feed? In that case just get yourself a pair of those clear or blue food grade barrels used and sanitized, there’s someone on Craigslist or Facebook Marketplace etc almost everywhere selling those from food wholesalers that break stuff down from the barrels into normal 5-50# wholesale bulk sizes, usually it’s olives or pickles or oil/vinegar/soap etc

Or just buy one new:

i saw @ifish talking about using pond liner as a flood tray and ive been messing around with it and its pretty solid. theoretically you could mold it into anything, i even made a 30g mixer out of an upside-down ikea table with some lol.

Yeah for sure. Get two and you’ve got 110 gallons.

I use one of these as a holding tank for RO water.

https://www.toter.com/products/homeowners/two-wheel-carts-trash-cans

Its heavy duty plastic that does not buckle or bow from the weight of the water. It also fit’s through standard doorways without any manipulation.
