2021 Fall Seed Run Co-op Boxes

Yeah, I have the plans and watched a number of videos on it. I guess I am just skeptical. Most white or green seeds I had did not pass the squish test. I found many smaller viable seeds that did pass the squish test but I would think they would have ended up in the waste bin of this machine. Now I am not saying it doesnt work and have never tried it so I am just going by what I see and as such am skeptical. I may throw 9ne together at some point just to try. Have you used yours yet? I would trust the opinion of someone who used one much more than anything else.

100% agree @Guitarzan . Weigh out several different 1g piles, then take the average number of seeds from all piles and multiply by the total weight of seeds to get a better guesstimate of the number of seeds.

My Dank Sinatra F2 run netted somewhere north of 30,000 viable seeds from 3 plants. I estimated that amount by using the method above.

Also, @Mithridate those sorters are helpful, for sure, but you gotta make sure everything is bone dry and fully shucked before you use them, and then you still have to do some sorting after using them to get AAA grade seeds, no matter what setting you use.

I do like the suggestions here that some of the white/greenies C grade seeds will still sprout into normal seeds. None of the aborted seeds will, though. I keep the white/greenies for myself and give away all the AAA, A & B grade seeds.

That reminds me, here’s my grading guide for seed separation:

AAA grade = the best of the best, only large seeds with perfect husk coloration, fully ripe
A grade = normal to large size, tiger striping mostly intact, fully mature no white/gray/green
B grade = small to large size, tiger striping rubbed off, mature but may be gray or white but still solid, including cojoined twins/triplets
C grade = all the remaining seeds that may be viable (solid, not hollow), may be small, including all green/white and small grays
Compost grade = all the hollow seeds and aborts, regardless of color

Here’s a pic showing the differences. I keep the stuff on the right for myself:

Because the seeds I share are 100% free, I include AAA, A and B grades in every pack. The point is to give you viable seeds of known provenance, nothing else.

lol no, PV F2 was in the last fall box. But, if you’re looking for some, I sent more to Sebring a couple months ago, so follow the instructions on the PV F2 Co-op run to sign up and add them to an order on his site, and then check with him.

Check out wizard of obs on Instagram, he has some seed extracting machines he has built over the years, one that functions like the one here that separates seed and hulls and one that will even bust up whole buds and remove seeds

Worth a look

It hurts my eyes just looking at that as I envision sitting there sifting through them pulling out all the white and green ones. You know something is painful when you are doing it and wishing you were in trim jail.

Very well put sir. I hope it stays that way. @Guitarzan if your counting seeds I agree with @nube. Your method is the way to it

If you make this one I want to see how it works. The one I got English measurements for has equal distance between triangles. This one doesn’t.

Okay, I’m back and ready to go!
I’ve received some seeds and will start working with breeders to get the rest in motion.
I’m also going to start compiling a list of recipients for each strain… and a combined list so we can pack mailers by individual.

A little late, but hopefully not too late. (And thank you for your continued patience!!! )
