2021 Fall Seed Run Co-op Boxes

Yeah, being in the US should also be considered a requirement for this ongoing Fall Box 2021 distribution. I believe Sebring has sent out a majority of the beans to the int’l distributors.

Also, and this is to everyone, we should try and refrain from tagging Sebring (using his “@”) as much as possible…

Yeah, I am already taking on Canada and would be happy to help, the big concern for me is beans crossing the border. I am happy to organize anything needed but a trusted distributor in the USA with a backup is really needed in my opinion. I just don’t want to see any beans crossing the border twice as it just adds to the risk of a growers hard work getting nabbed.

I am still not sure what Sebring has sent me and only have 4 out of 12 strains I was expecting but I am sure that will sort itself out upon his return.

For the future I will be accepting all seeds made in Canada and will deal with the breaking down and sending to distributors just to make things easier. That will lighten the load on the US distributor since there are many seeds made in Canada.

I am still happy to do whatever I can to help so feel free to reach out if anything is needed. I am still holding out hope that Sebring is able to return to his role but with help so he can use all his knowledge and skills while not taking on the huge burden by himself. That will be up to him though, his health is the most important thing in the end.

Have a great day OG.

I’ll put this out there.
My sister in law builds websites. I could have her, with the help of the distributor, build a website. She could turn over control to whoever.
If theres is payment required I’ll cover it.
Only thing is we are in an illegal state

From my side I have no need for a website or centralized place that would hold all that info, I prefer to keep it under my control and not on the WWW. That said others may have a different opinion :v:

That’s an amazing offer @Hydro921 , that would probably be so helpful to whomever ends up handling distro!
Edit: lol, I love when I’m on at the same time as you brother Doug. I feel like I’m often in the same threads as you… But maybe we’re just both in all the threads! :astonished::grin:

The nice thing about the way Sebring is set up is that he can take credit cards for payment, which are pretty much universal. Some people have PayPal, some don’t. Same for Venmo and the others. I know that can be worked around, but it just seemed to work very well being set up through DIYgreenlife.

Yeah this is why I think the distributor website would be useful… and not everyone has the Excel skills that Señor Dawson does :bear::bear:

In addition to @middleman input i think a legal state is a smarter idea for whoever will be responsible. It doesnt make much sense not to take advantage of recent legality gains.

As a bean provider i’d feel better that my time and labor wasnt at risk in a non legal situation.

I wonder if it wouldn’t be smarter to break up the US in several regions instead of searching for another single person to burn out in a centralized distributor position. That website idea sounds more like people would like to make it more convenient for the seed receivers. I don’t see how that would be less work than now, and I think it’s the distributor(s) that should be relieved.

I’m wondering why people are assuming the website has to change hands…that part seems to be functioning well?

But, yes to your point about a few regional distributors, I think that makes sense.

I can offer to help, I’m not sure what is needed exactly, but I’m in legal MA and have the capacity to offer support.

Yeah this has been proposed before, and others have supported the idea. I think it warrants further consideration.

It would continue the style of distribution people are already used to via DIYGreen, and I think it could make life easier as a centralized hub from which a small team of regional distributors could work, with each distributor having admin permissions. This way the distro system would be consistent no matter the region

The idea of adding another website that holds data on users and transactions is not one I am really keen on. I get it may be a bit more convenient for some but I really feel it adds another layer of risk and also another thing to manage. In the end it’s only the USA that utilized the DIYgreenlife for this and the rest of the world just had distributors for the job. I can see the upside some are looking at but it’s just not something I am going to utilize here for Canada.

As for breaking USA into regions, that’s up to Sebring and whoever he brings on board. I think more important than breaking into regions is Sebring having helpers so he can break the work load up. I think that is more important personally but that’s just from were I sit. It will really be up to those doing this to determine how they feel it will work best.

This, all day. While I do have ideas and thoughts on the topic, I also recognize that I won’t be the one doing the work, and I strongly feel the decision should ultimately be made by those folks.

This. People are only talking about US distribution I hope. I would not register on a website as long as I am not legal, and I have no credit card to pay on DIYgreenlife as it is. The EU distribution works fine as long as the seeds to distribute arrive and I don’t have to share my details with anybody that does not already have them.

I only mentioned website because it was mentioned above

I was just saying the website would make it easy for the distributor(s) to collate addresses with nicknames in an easily exportable and printable format. It’s not necessary though.

I also like the idea of splitting the country up into regions. I’m part of some other groups that do this and it makes things a lot easier overall. Everyone can participate in their own area. Would make shipping easier for all the distributors. The people making the seeds just have to ship out a few boxes to the US instead of just one to Sebring.

I feel like there’s not much us regular folks can do. It’s gonna take Sebring communicating with folks to find help. But as far as I know, he hasn’t been communicating. In a perfect world he would make an application thread and sort it out over PM’s with credentials, location, and things like that. But that’s just my 2 cents no one asked for lol

Edit: or even over phone call. You never really can get a feel for a person over text lol. Sort out the shady from the trustworthy
