im gonna get those 5 or 10 i really want only seen 2 people here with one of them.
rather buy a ton of dabs if im going to stuff a fridge with something.
my project is for climates akin to pnw outdoor. if you live in cali ill never send you any lol. never ask you for any.
overgrow the world through efficiency, brute force never works.

I too feel this is a good method.
The site will be better in the long run.
What this community is lacking is people growing out free seeds.
I don’t think anyone disputes this.

Again I will ask this question.
“Are you folks cool with the fact that a Seed Vulture can collect hundreds of packs in just one month and sell em for hundreds if not thousands of dollars?” :astonished:

That is what is happening right under our noses.
It is time for us to wise up.
We need to make these folks an example for the other Seed Vultures to see.
It would not be a bad idea to make it less easy to grab seeds and disappear.
What if the whole site turns to that sorta thing? :face_vomiting:

This community does a very good job of this.

One more thing for all the new members…
If your not doing this then you need to check yourself.
This place is about community, contribute to it or you are just a user.
If everyone is a taker and not a giver what kind of comunity will we have?

I am sorry I will whole heartledly have to disagree.
My guess is less than 10% given out are grown and shown.
I could be wrong, but I bet I am close.

How many do you think do this here?

I grow a shit ton of overgrow seeds and I’m nowhere near 10% of what I’ve been given.

How many folks here that have given a ton of seeds away would say…
Naw, I have plenty of people growing out my seeds I don’t need anymore.
I hear the oposite all the time…
Folks can not find people who will truly grow out the testers they offer.
One of the most giving guys on here said he was sad because a good tester is so hard to come by.

So free seeds with no obligation usually just go into the vault.
That has been my experience anyway.
I could have it all wrong too. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

People are under no obligation to grow my seeds. If they say they will and then don’t that’s one thing. But once they leave my hands they are not mine anymore and whoever gets them can eat them, trade them, feed them to the birds, I really don’t care.

I have an egotistical attachment to the seeds I’ve made but to expect people to grow them just because I made them is not reasonable.

If you’re selling them on instagram id like to find out where you live though.

I usually give away seed the same way.
Some I specify what I expect if I send you some.
I am clear and up front about it when needed.
If you take em and fail in your obligation you should not ask me for free stuff again.
I should also not let you run around the site doing the same thing to my family and friends.

Like you won’t let a known pedophile babysit your buddy’s kids.
You gotta call it out, you gotta protect the ones you care about.
I personally can’t stand by and watch it happen.
So I am hear to voice my opinion.
And my opinion is this shit need to stop and needs to stop now or it will only get worse.

I think your hyperbole is unnecessary.

I’ve got a huge seedbank. I’ll never get to all of them. But I appreciate everyone who has sent them to me, even if I don’t grow them. It gives me options which are invaluable.

We should distinguish between scumbags, of which there are some, and our good kindly OGers who treat this generosity with the courtesy and respect it deserves. Even if they don’t grow them, having a stash is a source of joy in itself.

One should do what they say they will do. I take pride in my work and love when people grow my stuff but footprint is a valuable thing and it’s not fair for me to assume that you will use your valuable space just because I’m attached to my gear.

May I politely ask what precisely do you feel has been exaggerated?

Seed hoarders are not akin to pedophiles.

What actually qualifies as a seed hoarder?

Wow, that was not anything like what I was trying to say… :joy:
The only message here was this…

So forget about the word pedophile for a min.

How is this one.
If you know one of the guys you hang out with likes to pinch a bud out of your bag when you go to the john.
Do you alert the rest of your crew?
Me personally I will always protect those I care about.
That is all I was saying.
That and most folks would never let harm come to their buddys kids because they did not wanna speak up.

Can you see the connection now?

If he’s my friend, which is why I’d be hanging out with him in the first place, and I have much, and he has little then I don’t care. I’d prefer he ask because I’d just give to him anyway but maybe he’s embarrassed and I’m not going to give him any shit about it.

There are 2 kinds, a Seed Junky and a Seed Vulture.
I have stated this many times.
It is a very fine line between them, but they are total opposites.
