Taking stock of what works what doesn’t when I clean them this weekend. The one I brought it checks out as expected, everything good except 2/4 bulbs are dead. If all the ballast work? Maybe look at keeping those.
At some point in their future, and my worst case place if NOTHING worked, drop in some Bridgelux strips and a new driver. At $16.60 a piece I think I saved money vs buy aluminum panels.
I use a 5 bulb rack of T5’s when the ladies are young. I built a small wooden cabinet around them so I could hook them into an exhaust fan system. They work great. Once they reach 1 foot or so, they get moved into a room with either a 600 HPS or 1000 CMH. I used to use T8’s but the T5’s were much better. I never considered converting them to LED. Anything that uses less electric 
is good though.
Worth the buy just for propagation/veg imo.
