Been at it all day, lol. Picked out seeds. Got 'em in water. Pulled out 35 dixie cups, my seed starter box, cleaned them all. Seed box is set n ready, cups cleaned n labled, enough of my Octo mix to start whatever comes up. Up pots ready, soil for them too.

Cooked 55 pounds of food for the dogs in the elec smoker, put it up.

Been looking at lights for 2.5 hours, have a headache. Since the seeds will take a week n half, then up pot into 4 x 4’s for another, then outside for maybe 2 more. Then take cuts n root. Be a bit before I need the new lights, so gonna take my time.

Today, LMAO, this is the light Im leaning to. Thinking will not do “board” light but rather a spread bar light instead. Will work better for my huge ass tent.

640 watts, cover 4.5 x 4.5 foot well, killer red spectrum, very good components, even light distribution, good price at 595 bucks. Looking at it hard.

Going nuts trying to figure out the octo layout :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

They are 18 inchs square, so 3 across is 4.5 deep. 3 deep same deal 4.5 So 4.5 X 4.5 That is 9 octos, leaves me 3 more to fit. NEED 2 lights.

So, how to layout and buy lights? Do I go 2 6 packs, 3 wide 2 deep, or what?? Trying to lay out on paper to figure it out.

Came to the conclusion I will need 2 lights, so that is a given. Octos do not lend themselves well to being arranged in the common light foot print of todays lights, damn it, lol!

Something to consider that wasn’t as available the last time you grew, is being able to learn the sex of your plants when they are just a couple of weeks old (before they would need to be transplanted into the Octopot). You ship a leaf sample to a lab and they email the results a few days later. It costs around $12-15 per plant, but if you have the funds to spare it’s a great way to save on time, labor and materials that would have been spent on a male plant. I’ve used Farmer Freeman successfully for this service.

octo sleeves

All my octos are fine, all my gauges are broken, lol, no big deal, make new ones or really do not need them . Level gauge on pot i mean. My bags are scattered all over, not sure how many i have, nor how many are good. They have all been run many times, lol, and last few runs i lost some due to being worn out. Ordered the “new” bags. Double wall, 2 inchs shorter, 1.5 inchs wider. Will see how they go, since Chris made em Im sure they shall be fine .

Papa, dont want to go dig, what am i using for the seedlings when i up pot them? Remember they are going into containers and outside for sexing then to be donors. I saw i have 2 different Jacks with ratios on the containers. Did we use 2 or 3 Jacks parts. I NEVER added mag or anything, and you know i dont even have a working ph meter, nor need one, just 48 hour sat water n the Jacks.

I want to start the seedlings on Jacks for sure, cuts will be run using them .

Papa’s Punch. Been a minute huh! Did you make it, or an other? Was it Jetdros Goji X your Sugar Punch? Cannot recall. I do recall smoking her, and seems to me she was potent as Hell, and stung when smoked, a fuel or lighter fuel , or some strong initial taste, you remember???

Had to include her. The Orange G was a no brainer it is so good and to my liking, the Space Monkey, not even going there, just know I dig it big time!! Terps for weeks. Your friends Amnesia Haze Core , well in spirit anyways, and maybe even as good. Gonna be a good line up too. Also threw down my last 3 remaining original Goji OG seeds, lord help me!

Seriously, with accuracy???

How old does it need to be, I like placing in my pots at FIRST sign of roots on a cutting, or at maybe a week or 2 old from seed, no longer from seed.

I never kept the males to be 100% certain, but every one they labeled a girl has turned out to be correct.

They say you can take a leaf sample at 7-10 days old. Farmer Freeman is based out of Washington D.C. which is a haul from my home in the Midwest. I send via priority mail which takes a few days, and they’ve never taken more than 3 business days to send results, so I figure about a week. You’d know the results between 2-3 weeks old. I don’t like to keep seedlings in Solo cups that long for fear of them becoming rootbound, but that’s not an issue if you start in a larger container (like a 1/2 gallon so it’s not too big for transfer to the Octopot).

Im all ready, just a waiting game now, hope for good germ rate on my old seeds.

Beautiful pup!! He is going to be huge. We have a 5 year old female and 2 year and a half female littermates. Throw in the 8 yr old Boxer and our house can be crazy at times!!

Glad to see you back. You are the reason I started running the Octo’s. I’m curious to see how the new sleeves compare to the old version.

My ex trained GSDs for Schutzhund - taking some to the National Championships. She bred a couple litters as well. For years we had between 3-9 shepherds living with us. They knew 40 commands in English and in German. Amazing animals!!!

Now I have Lola. A Harlequin Great Dane with behavioral issues (she was a rescue) and very little training, who takes up waaaaay too much space on the couch and the bed. Still love the silly girl, though. The dog, not my ex. :joy:
