That pic looks funny to me for some reason. 
I did mine a little different but admittedly, I was just winging it. It worked great though! @THCeed it definitely makes everything easier having a central res. If ya get creative with valves and such flushing the entire system is a breeze. Donât forget a check valve on your supply line if lower than drain line. If the res canât handle most all water in the system itâll overflow if you lose power. Donât askâŚ
My lights werenât the greatest back then but I was doin it!

Me too. Itâs an internet pic. Mine looks different too and my res is on the right outside of the tent.

Thatâs ours- the 1" fall line tees down to ground level at center tent, then both fall and drain lines exit the tent in the bottom right of that picture. 3" has a u bend before it hits the Res, fall line has a pump just outside the tent, driving the recirculation. Res is also a 13 gallon bucket. Green lines (if you can see em in that shot) are air, pump is also outside the tent.
Been damn happy with ours so far, but itâs also all weâve successfully grown in.
