Fingers to pick out undesirables, my wife’s pasta strainer for leaf debris.

Funny, I was shaking the strainer and my wife (who knows nothing of these matters) said “no, like this…” and stuck her little asian fingers in there like a claw and did a little motion like massaging a scalp. Shit-ton of plant debris started to fall…I said “huh… thanks babe”

Wow that’s awesome, you all put a lot of work into that. Amazing what can be done by lovers of the plant. Overgrow the world.

What a friggin awesome run this has “bean” to watch! the diversity and the sharing of pollen etc…there’s gonna be lots of keepers in these beans. :+1:

Mountains of beans to go around too.

Quick question for everyone;

I was thinking to myself that it would be kinda fun to (strategically) toss a handful of my B/C/D grade Goji Seeds into a wooded/grassland area where I walk my dog. It would be out of sight to the average person.

Is this

  • A fun experiment to see what will happen
  • A dumb idea, you’ll mess with the ecosystem

Find a good spot. Get a shovel and work that area. After you’ve added minimum of amendments, put up a chicken wire barrier. Paint the chicken wire black. It will be less noticeable, it will keep animals from eating your ganja.

Ive also used strong fishing string outside. I run one about chest high, one waste high, and one around my ankles hight.

I read a long time ago that when deer bump into the line they can’t see what’s blocking their path and will back up and find another.

I’ve never had a problem with deer since.

But definitely amended the soil. Make sure it’s worked and lossennnd up at least.

I’ve always dug deep, but many grower in Cali tell me to dig wide is better. They grow monsters, so maybe this year I will take their advice.

That’s a good solution. Don’t forget the piano wire for the lowlife plant thieves. :sunglasses: I have noticed that wider plant holes grow wider and taller plants than the deep holes that I dig.

I wonder if ‘decoy’ patches might be useful

Depends on whose land it is. Could be epic, but you sure need to know the property you plan to use. Best vibes. :v:

are you trying to harvest these plants or just put them out there and never come back? i remember a thread years ago on icmag about seed bombs that were ewc, peat and seeds with clay on the outside to hold it all together. i’ve made a few and just never return.

i like to throw as far as i can while mushroom hunting. in rural areas i’ve started planting sunchokes on the side of the road to mark where i’ve thrown seed bombs in case i do want to go back and check on them. in city parks they never get too big before the deer get to them.

I once thought about doing that, I had a bag of seeds I got from my friend. Then I read a post and they were talking about the pollen from males that potentially could ruin anything growing In or near the location so I never did it. Dang now I want to do it again and I don’t have the seeds anymore.

Thanks, Legs. If you are gonna risk it, it pays to do it right.

Could be worse things to ruin your crop than goji pollen lol
