(complete) Celtic Stone Preservation run 2023 by Draig and Lady Zandra

The reason I do mine that way is it is alows then a couple week to finsh and start drying for the sucking. I don’t have to do anything with them during that time. I also leave them as I cut down one at a time to shuck. So some got 3-3.5 weeks.

What a Journey this has been and Lady Zandra deserves most of the kudos for al lher hard work, Draig baby sitting the males, teamwork…

I would like to take just a few minutes here though to give a shout out to the creator of this wonderful strain before we all forget him caught up in it all…
Deadvet was his handle and the man had talents at choosing what and who to cross… his love for the plant was well known and he grew organically with almost no additives except a PK boost at week 6 and some calmag… A true believer in the KISS method and he proved it worked just fine…

I have 2 little seeds of his Celtic Berry and when grown out will have some of this CS pollen painted on it to preserve it for a big run down the road… she was my favorite…

The world will be a better place for this preservation… High Times and IC Mag both have written articles about this strain and wondered where he and it went.
So, this is a magical trip with much meaning behind it… and the love for this wonderful plant…

These gals are WAY past due… by WEEKS. I’ve been tending them ‘as usual’ up til this past week. Gave them one last good drink-- now waiting for nature to take it’s course.

Amen to that!!
Been wishing we had been able to keep in touch with him…knew him starting in 2001… worked with Him and the original ‘Celtic Crew’ during the beginning stage- when he was choosing parents and having us grow-out a few and find specific keepers .
We unfortunately did not stay with the project, due to personal and legal reasons…but stayed in touch until the disappearance of the Planet Skunk Site. DID talk to him on Facebook for about a year or so after that-- then he just disappeared.
Wish he could see this.

I know a lot of folks who use DE themselves-- in yogurt etc…
Have you noticed benefits?

Can’t really say, lol No idea of what shape we’d be in if not, so nothing to really compare to.
Just another in a long list of natural healthy stuff we do/use.
Been using it for at least 20+ yrs.

Absolutely no bugs is what I’ve noticed… plus no needing to add silica liquid and saves me that little mixing part… I mixed mine into the soil a few days prior to using it and planted, watered in, walla… I put a single yellow sticky trap in the room and nothing is on it but a chunk of perlite. lol

when I up potted, I waited until the plants got settled in a few days and left room for topping off afterwards… so I mixed some in that a week before and topped off the plants with dry soil after a good watering… then water thru it next watering…

My plants look healthy and no fungus gnat infestation… no complaints here

Remember that diatomaceous earth is the empty shells of tiny marine animals and they kill insects by sucking out the lipids from their bodies.

I wouldn’t recommend ingesting them.

LOL!

No hun-- I meant EATING it!
Johnny Potseed and the Missus ingest it daily… lots of folks do-- I just was wondering if they felt a benefit!

LOL! Huggz!!! :green_heart:

Um, it is sold to be used for ingestion by farm animals, pets AND people!
That is why it is called ‘‘food-grade’’ DE.

It is hard to regulate something that makes up so much of the earth like that. So people can claim whatever they want. Same as the entire supplement industry.

Red lake DE is different than just DE.

Not gonna argue…
But RedLake DE is NOT food Grade, because it is NOT pure DE.
People ingest clay powder for the same reasons.
A lot is because, we USED to ingest small amounts of soil in our food…normal, natural. We’ve become such a disinfected society that we can’t even fight off normal bacteria/viruses.
Considering Johnny’s been using DE for over 10 years, as have thousands of other people, pretty sure it’s not gonna hurt .
Some people just do not believe in the practice of ‘‘natural medicine’’-- and that’s your choice…
but isn’t that what Pot is?
Same type of arguments are made against supplements as the anti cannabis people make against weed-based medicine.

Now-- Back to the original post please…
I chose to ask a question about DE-- now I’m done, didn’t want to start an issue, and not gonna continue the discussion-- thanks.

I believe in natural medicine (i’m making a strain specifically for migraine relief and my backyard is full of medicine from different plants) and I also know that anyone can say anything and people ingest all kinds of things for years like this guy…

It looks like Food Grade DE isn’t actually pure DE either it is just 1% Crystalline DE like the picture up there and then 99% sand. So you are basically eating sand with a tiny amount of very sharp things in it. You also have to rely on trusting the chemical mining company to extract all arsenic etc. Most of the time these companies do not get all of the heavy metals out because they don’t care which is another danger entirely unto itself.

I only mentioned the red lake because you said it was given to animals but the reason it is given to animals is not for their benefit but for the benefit of the farmers convenience.

I see youre passionate about DE but i’m just clarifying the specifics of what you’re saying here. Of course do whatever you wish. I know personally i am very careful around any DE.

Uhm…‘this guy’’ has a condition that one of our Nurses has… so unless you have pertinent info about why he is blue OTHER than Chemo, methemoglobinemia, or the genetic disorder known as Fugate, please don’t use and try to say it’s from ‘ingesting natural medicines’ and use it to further your argument that I ASKED you to drop, or take it to another board.
This IS our thread… please let us get back to it… you can alwas keep this going in your OWN thread on the appropriate board…

Not that you are trying to attack me-- but that you won’t drop it after being asked TWICE --now 3x to take it elsewhere NOT on OUR Celtic Stone post…
PLEASE TAKE IT ELSEWHERE!

Thanks, my brother, you are right, @Lady.Zandra63 deserves most of the credit on this one. I just worked with the males and helped collect the pollen, she did all the growing and dusting of the females, since I am unable to do stairs.

Absolutely a big shout out to Deadvet, wherever you are, bro! I whish he could see what we’ve all done to keep his creation alive. It wouldn’t have been possible without your gift, my brother, Carty! I’d love to see that Celtic Berry x Celtic Stone when you get to her!

@CocoaCoir Thanks for your concerns for the community, though.
This is getting a bit off topic now. I think you have adequately warned people of your proceived dangers of Food Grade DE. It looks like an agree to disagree situation here.

CocoaCoir, please keep the conversation topical. The OP would like to keep thread focused on:
