Fun with clones - in stasis

These clones are a month old and have very little new growth.
They were planted in the basic organic soil and get water only every few days. The lights are 24/7 and only 1500 lux.
Even with that, you can see the deep green of excess nitrogen (that’s not a concern).
Past experience shows I can keep them like this for months. When I want to use them, just crank the light up to 15K lux and boom!

Just tripped over this.
I’m not sure how applicable this is in the real world…

Yeah this information has been out for nearly a year now, and suppressed, like a lot of other natural things that stop it.

I am shocked by how exact all of the OG Kush plants are synchronized!
Looks like the boys will start dropping in 24 Hrs, so today was the day to separate.

Here’s the harem…

The runt in the center is just head stash.
Front left is the Critical plus fem. Very similar structure so far to the OG Kush.
Front right and back two are the three females I’m breeding with.

Here’s the males…

The runt on the left is not part of the program
Center & right and the two males in the program.

It’s coming along and firing on all cylinders… :crossed_fingers:

There was a bit of a pause as I was bumping up the light intensity to compensate for the DLI…
Turns out they didn’t like 50K lux, so had to back off a couple notches to 40K.
After they settled in they got moving.

It’s time I got the signup sheet posted. I think I’ll put that up tomorrow (Monday Jan 24). I better throw some cross posts out there… :peace_symbol:

Do you just bring your males into the flowering tent? I’m trying to figure out how I’m going to do this run I’m doing. I went to using a bedroom. Ideally, I’d like to have a warm day to do it outside, but once the males get close it’s hard moving them at all.

I’ll probably just put up a panda film wall to keep it in that one spot. It’s in an alcove of the bedroom that is about 6’ x 6’. It’ll be easy to close it off. Then I’ll only have a small space to clean.

Good luck with yours! peace

As soon as they start to drop they will get moved to the spare bedroom and I’ll set up to collect the pollen.
Lots of misting with a fine water vapor is the key to managing the pollen (that and still air).
Showers and changing clothes as well.

Yeah, it doesn’t take much. I probably should do the same thing. That last time I grew in that BR I took a paintbrush to paint buds on one or two small limbs of one plant. That one session ended up pollinating every plant, lol. That’s when I learned how potent that stuff is, and how it floats in air and is very efficient and effective at doing it’s job.

You know, when I grew previously I always wanted to do a seed run, and never took the opportunity; then when I started growing again recently, I couldn’t remember why I wanted to grow for seeds.
Two months on Overgrow, reading threads like this, I remember how awe inspiring it is to see these plants in all stages of growth, life, death, sickness, flowering, and reproduction.
Thank you for the reminder @Gpaw (and of course the other seed runners who’ve inspired me)!

I put an air purifier in the closet where my RBC x C kush that hermed stayed for a while before I saw more an more nanners popping out. I hope that kinda kept some of the pollen at bay.

I’m with you brother!
I came here just trying to get better yields and maybe get some interesting beans to try.
Now I’m interested in preservation runs and landraces.
Half the time I forget to squeeze in an extra one for head stash…

It can be an addicting hobby. It’s the most fascinating plant that I know. And, then adding to that, there are so many variations. One lifetime is not enough to digest it all. But, we can try! :upside_down_face: :+1:

Excellent read with lots of useful info that I can hopefully incorporate in the future. Looks like you are headed to a strong finish despite the issues early on.

Hey Green_Light, glad you liked it and found it useful. :+1:

I’m always messing with something new

My timing was way off on the training, I wanted to try growing to 6 nodes and chop at three for clones.
Bad idea, that wasted 3 weeks… I can improve that time but there’s still better ways to do it.
I wanted to find out how far I could push the new soil before up-potting and see how it presented.
Mission accomplished, I think I know just how to augment the soil for flowering.

Time to stop messing around and make some magic beans!

Always more I can learn @Gpaw. I see lots of creative problem solving happening here and people willing to share what they have learned the hard way. Makes it easy to loose a couple hours on a Sunday.
