I may be late to the show but look like you’re off to a good start. Going to follow along. Thanks for doing this for OG.

Hey Joe! Glad to see you.
They are taking off like bottle rockets right now and there’s a nice musky pot smell starting. Portents of things to come.

Hey hey, things have been crazy here at home plus my flower light being outta commission for 3 weeks so haven’t been posting much. Still growing strong though

Looking mostly uniform, that’s cool. Some subtle variations but either way, all looking very healthy. Thanks for posting that article, it was an interesting read. It reminded me about Teaming with Microbes and how they spoke about being able to produce heavy leaning bacterial teas, balanced teas and fungally dominated teas. Personally I like to keep things balanced and it seems to be working out for me.

Thanks!

There’s a couple subtle differences of leaf serration I need to document for myself.
I don’t know at this point if they will mean anything or not but I’ll probably be kicking myself later if I don’t  You know… Good 'ol Murphy…

I use small containers (16oz) for all my mothers and clones. I still lift to feel if they need to be watered. I just use thumb and index finger and grab a lip/corner. You can really feel the difference in weight of water that way.

Hey @Seamonkey84, good seeing ya bro!

My fine motor control isn’t what it used to be. It wasn’t until I started weighing I realized exactly how much

Another thing I caught myself doing was subconsciously assuming that ‘today’ would be almost the same as ‘yesterday’ in the sense of how much water would be needed… NOPE.

Now they are basically sucking the containers almost dry in 24 Hrs. I have increased the amount of water to the runoff point.
I’ll check root development today but I’m pretty sure it’s just about time to up-pot.

Yep, about every 24hrs most of my moms need about 6oz of water each. Unless they were recently pruned, then they can go 2 days lol. Examples of what I’m dealing with :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:
Bonsai mothers mostly end up like this

Clones grow to about 12” before up pot to bloom

Blindly just watering them everyday has resulted in some suffering from overwatering issues before, and needing a hydrogen peroxide soak.

Nice looking mother.
Do you root prune as well?

I was playing around last winter and spring with mothers. Basically working out the ‘mechanics’.

I’m guilty of doing this and was wondering if you are using equal parts H2O + H2O2 and applying it to the medium to try and introduce more O2 to the suffocating roots? Also what percentage of H2O2? Thanks.

I’ve done root pruning in the past when I had them in 1/2gal square containers, but with these little ones I’m just starting new moms.

Standard over the counter 3%, I mix 1:1 with water, and flush with it till run off or even sit it in a tub to let it soak too. Do that and let it drain the dry before watering again. If your using organic ferts, you might want to reintroduce more good bacteria too

I checked the roots and they were ready & it’s week 3.

Re-hydrated some more of the Black Swallow Kiss mix and prepped the pots. Watered each with about 250ml and here we are!

{edit} Standing by for stage 2 ignition… :vulcan_salute:

Well, this soil is proving to be Tony the Tiger GREAT!!
The up-potting was not noticeable at all, growth unchecked.

Here we are a 3days later, compare with above :arrow_heading_up:

Yeah, I know, the hydro folks are going “that’s nuthing…” :vulcan_salute:
and you are right, but this ain’t shabby for organic…

{edit} I attribute some of the growth to the Dynomyco I dusted under the base of the plant.
