Absolutely agree with the others @Kavman and like I said earlier I have been able to see you grow in your confidence and growing up some gorgeous plants and I am ready for the opportunity to continue to watch this and I just can’t wait for flip time!.. Always an exciting time to see the stretch and transition to being guys and gals Happy Growing Vibes The Doc
What’s the ratio looking like? The suspense is killing me! lol
Thanks man. Its been a great experience sharing. The plants aren’t the only ones who have grown.
@buckaroobonsai gonna do an official report here tonight. But off the top of the head it’s close to 50/50
Thanks man. Onward we go.
Can’t beat those numbers!
I will take 50/50 odds 365-24/7 The few times I’ve played roulette. I put everything on black if I win, I let ride and pick red. If I win again. I walk away. If I lose I still walk away. lol
Nope not for preservation run for sure. Final count in a few hours
Sweet! Congrats on that spread bud
Are you planning to separate and group up the reds with one another and same for greens or let everyone mix in one giant plant orgy?
It’s an open pollination for the seed run. My 97 cut is a red stem and I want to use red stem males with her specifically. I have a separate place already in place to do some selective breeding with her
Ya Legs I honestly hope the rest are males. These plants are already two footers. So even if the rest turn out to be male there will be more seeds than I can even imagine. Gonna have to research best method for removal of that many. I am sure it’s on here somewhere.
I did a little pollinating on my outdoor this year with a skunk Hawaiian strain. Selective branches. What a chore that was. And then it’s like what do I do with all that fingered through bud. I let my partner deal with that .
So I bought a bonsai screen set off Amazon to do the job, they come with three progressively finer screens that you can pop in, super helpful for the intial breakdown and screening, after that I used my large dry sift screen to dump all the seeds and fine, almost powdered plant matter into and then just tilted and tapped the screen to roll all the seeds to one corner and then used a plastic putty knife to brush the plant matter away. Still a n incredibly tedious process but I have to imagine it’s more efficient than doingg the whole deal by hand
Here’s a link to that screen set: 4pc Soil Sieve Set, 12" diameter - Stainless Steel Frame Three Interchangeable Sieves With Varying Mesh Sizes Grade - Mix Soil Filter Large Debris Replacement Screens Available Great for Bonsai https://a.co/d/4gDI7GL
Thanks for the info
The smorgasbord that’s about to happen and all them seeds about to be made, your going to need a full on seed separator. Which you can build or buy. But it’s gonna be a lot of work.
Agree with you there @Enjoi802 it’s gonna be seeds galore and he’s been doing an AWESOME job with these guys and gals and I can’t imagine shucking a couple plants let alone the jungle @Kavman is hopefully gonna be taking care of pregnant girl’s in . time and Happy Growing The Doc
Added to wishlist lol. That’s a good idea!
I dont think I can claim that one as my own, but damned if I can’t remember who suggested it to me. Effective none the less
