Is that a mic stand? If so, that thing fits in a standard mic clip?

SOLID BRAINING @Kavman !!!

(Runs to his mini-music studio to grab one of his mic-stands)

I gotta get one of these things, been seeing more folks flexing em and they seem like the best way to check trichs. My poor shitty jewelers loupe’s days are numbered

They’re pretty good, and fairly cheap, but you def need a stand to keep it stable. They’re very touchy when trying to do it by hand, zoomed in. This mic stand is perfect! Set it up and use the button in the app to take the pic. Always get the pic you want

Lol yeah I’ve given up on checking trichomes with the plain loupe. Still trying to find a simple handheld small magnifier that works well.

I can kinda do it but I’ve explored other options too and haven’t really found the game changer yet, although the phone camera microscope I got does a decent job I will say

Part of my problem is poor lighting in my basement and I’m too lazy to set up lighting just to check trics haha. What phone camera scope are you using?

Those handheld microscopes have LEDs in the tip that shine light at the object you are photographing

Lemme see if I can find it in my purchase history, standby

Basically this thing:

Beileshi 60x Zoom Microscope Magnifier LED Clip-on Micro Lens for Universal Mobile Phones Universal Clamp Amazon.com

Couldnt find the exact one I got in my purchase history but this is an exact lookalike

I have this one $34 with prime. It is game changer switching from the loupe for sure. Wifi connect to cell phone. I don’t use a stand, so pics are not quite as clear as those posted by @Kavman above.

Pics from mine…

Yup i have the same exact one, you can up the quality alot by using a mic stand. Without it i just record a video going very slow over the trichomes then go back and screenshot a clear frame from the video

I’ve the same microscope but with a crappy small stand. They make for good pictures but honestly I use my loup more still because I’m moving around the tent checking different areas. Those have to be pretty stable to see well, I found.

@VAhomegrown its not a standard clip some off brand. I modified it slightly to keep it from squeezing the microscope too tightly. It was making the focus adjustment wheel bind.

Good tip. Noted

Anyone know if you could use one of those adjustable bendy camera stand things (worst product description ever, sorry) to stabalize one of those microscopes? I, sadly do not have any mic stands lying around the house at the moment :joy:

Something akin to this guy:

Pipishell 25 Inch Webcam Stand - Flexible Desk Mount Clamp Gooseneck Stand for Logitech Webcam C930e,C930,C920, C922x,C922, Brio 4K, C925e,C615-PIWS01 Amazon.com

Basically something smaller/cheaper than a proper mic stand that you could easily setup on the tent pole or similar to stabalize and get the shot

It would get you the right angles but lacks the rigidity. The sturdier the better when you are trying to focus

Thanks. That is what OG is all about.

If you purchase the microscope on amazon it comes with a much better stand than when I bought it a couple of years ago. AND if you give him a review and let him know about it, he sends you a free carry case. The owner of that company is actually very responsive. I told him about my broken stand and he sent me another crappy one but he’s upgraded that stand now.
