Cotyledon Leaves Didn’t Open

As you can see by the pic the coytldon leaves never fully opened and new growth is popping out. Is this worth the time to grow or should I drop another bean?

it looks like it did it’s job. from my limited understanding, they only supply the nutrients needed to fuel new growth and start the photosynthesis. looks like it worked.

It’ll be fine. I had one not open and just grow out the sides and it grew out of it.

This happen when part of the membrane gets stuck and dries.

Water, or myself I use a scalpel to split them

Usually I’d agree with you but I had one where they just didn’t want to split even after removing the skin.

I just pinch and flick them till they open up. I’ve even ripped them mostly off pulling the seed husk off and they just power through.

I say get rid of it :joy: but my opinion ain’t worth the horse it rode in on….see I’m the only dumbass that said get rid of it(goes back to reading/less commenting) :joy:

This reminds me of Zappa’s “Penguin in Bondage” on his Roxy and Elsewhere album. Done Deal…
