You grow cover crop in Solos? Wonder if that would inhibit my gnats. Can you bottom feed with a cover crop?

Oh I dont grow soil normally. This is the first time and I put in a cover crop cause it seemed like the right thing to do. I also have no idea what bottom feeding is. I figure if youre trying to hit the bottoms of the roots if you just dunked the solo in some nutes itd accomplish a bottom feeding?

put the cup in a dish and feed/water by putting the liquid in the dish …it works really well on root bound pots and probably would be a good thing to do when these get to that point

I also do it because I frequently treat the soil surface with diatomaceous earth. This is ineffective when the surface is wet.

How do these things not get root bound? I would have never thought you could get bud that size from those little cups

I put a few holes in the sides of my cups for a little air pruning action.

Opened my jiffy plug and the bagseed looks like it needed some help. Broke it open and now have it under the light. Strong tap root but the leaves didnt want to push thru to the light…

I’m thinking starting with half filled cups and waiting for them to get a little rootbound before filling the cups to the full 16oz will offer the best chance of success.
If things don’t work out, I’ll forfeit and uppot, but that shouldn’t be an issue.
