Here’s my version! Nothing super-different from Maddawg’s above. It still may benefit someone so here goes!
I got the tub from walmart for around 7-8 bucks maybe. DO NOT TRUST THE ROPE HANDLES! I dropped mine after one side slipped through.
I drilled a few holes near the bottom of the pvc pipe so the water goes down easy
Curl the pdp
After i put in the water pipe, I made a patch to block soil from dropping down into the basin.
Pvc is snug and also next to drain hole on side of tub. Having it on the same side let’s you watch for overflow while you’re filling.
I took the bottom of a used fabric pot to make my wick.
Packed it in nice and dense.
I used the rest of the fabric to seal the other holes.
Now she’s ready for action!

Initially i didn’t really seal my holes that well. I just didn’t bother with it. But i liked the way @Maddawg sealed his. I figured I’d seal this one up nice and good since I’m taking pictures.

Thanks man, on the left is Sour Bubble from the fall box and on the right is Strawberry Sour Haze I got from a member here, first time i got a clone in the mail. This is my first SIP attempt btw. Well i did one last year with a cherry tomato plant outside but this is the first time with weed.

@MoBilly here is a picture of what my control bucket looks like. You can buy the whole float valve assembly as a kit from some hydro store for $80. I already did the leg work and found a commercial plumbing site where you can buy the exact same 3 individual pieces for $20 total if you are interested.

I’m not sure what that is. The lights are on 24-7 in my veg room. I plan to close up any light leaks but for now I’m running lights all the time for veg.
OK I just read a little bit about DLI.
But I found out what the problem is. I haven’t added that spacer in this SIP so it only takes one gallon. The wrong dipstick was used. She was drowning.
I didn’t want to put in my overflow until I had worked out just how much volume I could attain.
So I guess I’ll try to put that spacer in this one as soon as the plant recovers from this.
I’m not prone to stupidity. Really I’m not. lol
