Cannabis training university, anyone know anything about it? Is it worth anything? I’ll preface this with I’m not looking to get a job in the field but just to understand the entirety of it all, a little more clearly
I’m not quite sure if the certification means anything but the information learned is fairly valuable
OG is the best cannabis school but sometimes you need to fill in the blanks.
I don’t know about this course in particular but I read a bit of one and it wasn’t too bad actually.
I’d suggest doing a youtube deep dive on Bruce Bugbee, DeBacco, and Harley Smith.
Bruce’s Youtube
Bruce is a legend in Ag, though he’s decidedly “commercial” and sided with public policy, but gleaning the “big picture” from his lectures is the idea. Tons of videos. He is somehow involved in Apogee Instruments which offer cannabis-specific lighting analysis equipment… so guess what he likes to talk about He also sells a training course to the public. People post cliffnotes from his course all the time. Google “Bruce Bugbee Mars” look for RIU linky … The maximizing yield video is infamous, as is this Cornell offering:
DeBacco’s Youtube
DeBacco is a youtuber with basic info, can’t leave him off the list. I don’t think he sells anything or is in the public eye other than his YT presence.
Harley’s Youtube
Harley Smith makes the list because of his insights into the indoor soiless/hydro nutrient game. He sells nutes under his “RAW” line but his info is free. I like him for his approach to not overfeeding the plant.
I won the Masters Growing Certification from @GreenCulturED on 4/20 which was a combination of graphic videos and pdf documents over many, MANY modules.
I did the course and I can say 100% it filled in a lot of in between the lines information that I didn’t know, a bunch that a did know but a solid refresher, and a pile of industry info that I find rather fascinating to know even though I’m not going into that field quite yet.
Thank you for this, I kind of figured as much and since i’m really just looking into the business side of things its relatively new stuff and legalities i’m interested in. I am about half way done with the course work and about 80% i knew but the next half seems like it will be harder.
Here is the course outline for anyone interested.
