Does anyone use unfiltered tap water?

That is quite a short list from what I’m used to. Is this only part of what they are testing for?
At least you know you are dealing with chlorine and not chloramine. :+1:

they tested for round up looks like

For comparison, here is the 2019 water quality report for NYC. Starts on page 14.

the most recent samples quoted are 3 years old, some 5

I called the court and got the number for the water plant earlier today. I am going to contact them tomorrow and get a copy of the report. I live in the middle of nowhere Oklahoma…

Obviously everybody’s tap water is different. Mine is pretty heavy at around 230ppm. I run re-used soil, water only through my entire grow and it’s straight from the tap, no sitting out or anything. I’ve never noticed any ill effects so I keep doing it because it’s easy. I’ve got a long hose nozzle extension so I can reach the plants in the back. It would be awful to crawl around in there trying to water from a pitcher.

yeah…the grow shop I visit when asked about water-only had 2 brands of water-only soil …one they said recommended pH’d water the other it was not a recommendation.

This likely means there are enough ions in the soil to keep it from moving in the case of alkaline tap water. Perhaps larger amounts of the nutrients are in that particular soil mix. The one asking to pH may be skimping on ingredients.

In the ground should not be pH change enough to really matter…not if the water meets potable standards

I use unfiltered Chicago tap water for over 20 years…and I don’t have any tds/ppm meters or check the ph…

Ok so what i have been doing is running air stones in my 5 gallon buckets or jugs for a couple days. I use a lot of compost teas and always make sure.to ph to 6.56… Or somewhere near that. My water reads 8.5 straight out the tap.

What do you guys know about ascorbic acid and our ganja trees? Ascorbic acid neutralizes chlorine. I did it the other day and didn’t notice any ill effects.

I use to use a couple of the biggest sized plastic trash cans and fill them with my city water . Within a day or two the chlorine will be gone just with the occasional stir with a canoe paddle lol But to make sure I would have an aerating stone running in each can which helped speed it up and make sure. There is no need for adding anything unless you didn’t plan ahead and are in a hurry .

I have no idea about Ascorbic acid, I did want too mention problems with Chloramine Vs. Chlorine. Chloramine is used by my water company and it will not outgas when left with an airstone. I use aquarium water treatment to neutralize the stuff. Gotta check the bottle; I may be using this Ascorbic acid after all…

I use tap water but I do let it sit for a few days, I usually have 4-5 gallon water bottles sitting around
Ph of my tap water is 8.5 ppm is 34 lol

I use water right from my tap into living soil, haven’t noticed any issue w it.

But, I do notice that my plants seem to really love the rainwater that I collect for them, when I can.

I use tap water and it has chloramine so letting it stand does nothing. My plants have no issues with it whatsoever. I see someone said “Chlorinated water : crappy weed.” but I have to disagree with that whole heartedly. I grow in Coco so no worries about messing up my soil.

I use straight up tap water ph is 9.3 ppm is 34 lol
Add Epsom salts or calmag to bring the ppm up to 200
Then add nutes fix the ph
Or if I’m just giving them water use ph down
