Yea I don’t use air stones anymore just open tubes with big nuts tied in them to keep them on the bottom!
I have kept an eye on much of your information. Im almost halfway through teaming with microbes, interesting stuff.
I’m not giving up, but if my equipment isn’t good enough, I’m going to take a vacation on it until I can afford better. 30 bucks that could have been spent towards doing it properly. Live and learn.
Edit: I was using the open tubes with weights by the way.
Editing the edit: I can still use the tea, or I just need to use it in the lawn?
Coming from the saltwater aquarium world, we want lots of movement on the surface. I believe it results in more O2 exchange. Now if you wanted to create a storm of bubbles and not mess with air stones, you could use a water pump that uses a Venturi to inject air right into the impeller and “vamanos muchachos!” Internal Protein Skimmers - Bulk Reef Supply
Yea we’ve all been there! I myself started with @ 10$ Walmart aquarium pump in the pet section, been there done that! I feel like one the thriftiness guys you’ll probably ever meet if I see good value in Something and educated myself in one form or fashion I’ll buy it!
I say use it!
If something goes bad use that Information to your advantage and learn from it !
I appreciate you guys. Your always so nice, that the only one calling me an idiot is me
Thanks for all the advice. I will get set up for next year.
Edit: yes sir, I don’t tend to make the same mistake twice, I cant stand doing that. My negative tone is just the tone of my week, but I always kick back.
Reading up on KNF, I would’t shy away from a tea that’s gone anerobic. There are millions of different microbes, both aerobic and anaerobic, the majority of which are beneficial.
Thanks reiko
I put both airstones on, and dropped them in. I removed the material and paint strainer. The castings smelled good still, so no issue there. After running all night, the smell is considerably less than it was. Apparently something has become more balanced. I’m gonna give it to the plants on the way to the lake.
I run an airlift that was built to Tim Wilson’s specifications. It makes amazing tea…I almost want to drink it. @Tinytuttle I run a large pump like the one above. Tim really did all the heavy lifting as far as compost tea. Just follow his plan.
Bubble bubble…
Looks great with past batches I get such a head on my brews I’d imagine the airlift can make a hell of a mess! Lol
