First grow ever!

It’s been bumpy, overgrow community. All my sweet seeds died. I believe I under watered, then we had some wild weather in early fall. I had to skuttle to get the plants covered and tucked in for a freeze in November (I’m zone 7A almost B). Then harvest and canning got my attentions. Life, house, work and kids too.
I tried to pop a few more seeds, equipment failure froze a couple, and a random warm day toasted a few more.

But not all is lost! I now know a ton a ways not to grow indoors!

My husband is a great house plant dad, and likes to 3D print, so we have some extras laying around and I was able to get a deal on a tent.

So, Ive taken a total 180 to this

Im struggling, I won’t lie. There is so much to fuss over, and so much to learn!

I’m having trouble with pH in the right bucket. It wants to ride up to 8 after a day or two. I had to man handle the roots a bit and I suspect I damaged them and it’s causing the spikes. I keep adjusting down and saying a prayer.

The other bucket with a larger, 6" basket, has a bagler. I don’t know what I’m going to do with her, as she’s likely a photo and my others are auto. I’ll cross that bridge when I get there.

In the seedling lamp is another sprout, same as the first big girl, and I just put a seed in water to pop this morning.

Some details, please critique! Give advice, everything is welcomed!
Nutes- Advanced Nutrients (grow/micro/bloom) 15ml/ 4 gal I’m trying to balance the advice of “less nutes for autos” and the recommendation that is already half of “full strength” I settled on 15mL and said yolo.
pH - 6.0 I’ll adjust down to 5.8 and it rides as has as 8 if I miss a day.
Humidity 40ish right now, keeping the door closed. I’m about to crack a lid on the bucket to get a touch more humidity. It’s dry as heck here in winter
Temp 73
Lights 20/4 [This is my light](Grow Light Full Spectrum Groplanner GP 1500 3x3ft Growing Lights Smart Grow Light 756pcs LEDs, Daisy Chain Dimmable 1500w Grow Lights for Indoor Plants Seeding Veg https://a.co/d/gMVpKDd)
It’s about 20 inches from the top, I haven’t measured.

I plan to change my buckets entirely weekly. I run my well water (130ppm) through my Brita filter (60 ppm)

I think that’s it! Thank you for your help, and I apologize for my absence! Life just gets busy sometimes. Maddawg I haven’t forgotten about your pucks! I’m a teacher, and winter break starts tomorrow afternoon so I plan on getting a bunch of seed pucks out to you. I’d not be able to afford this learning experience if it wasn’t for your generosity!

Water change today for the big girl. (I think it’s a girl, pics!)

The roots are doing this nonsense, and there is either plant matter or nutrient precipitate as sediment.

I was going to try and trim the roots, but my husband was over my shoulder while I was checking on them and he thinks she looks good, and I shouldn’t mess with it.
I did change the bucket to a sanitized bucket with fresh nutes. I mixed up a stronger batch, 30mL each bloom/grow/micro in 4 gal water. pH adjusted to 5.8 and tested ppm at 550.
I read a suggestion on feeding to check ppm, then 24 hours later check again and use the change to guide your nutrient schedule. I’m not marrying this suggestion, but I will check ppm in 24 hours and see what happens.

The root in Bagler has just now touched down on the water. Her bucket looks great, but I am going to read up for moving forward. I’ve been pHing her water, it doesn’t move hardly any, as it’s just misting stones. Right now the water is a 15ml/4 gal micro/grow/bloom solution I mixed on Sunday with brita-ed well water. The reservoir looks clean and ready to go, ppm is 350. I’m going to research ppm suggestions for her stage of growth and make sure I’m on track and then let her.grow and observe.

The seed I popped is struggling to tail, the heat mat I use is likely going out, as I’m getting terrible temperature swings. I’m about to put the next seeds in the egg incubator. I’ll see what happens over the next few days, but I’m likely going to pop another.

It’s been a ride. I’ve been so busy, and with spring right around the corner I have homestead tasks and seeds to plant. But I had to swing by and ask if I’m on track. My oldest plant is an absolute bush. It’s Gelonade x Jack herer and it’s outgrowing my tent. No obvious sign of flower My dad is my “old head” grower and saw a pic 2 weeks ago and told me it was ti.e to trim “suckers and purple stems” and flip my lights. I told him it was an auto and he called it “fancy modern weeds”

Pic dump and quick catch-up, reverse chronological order.
Idk wth I’m doing, but it looks like it’s about ready to chop. I have a loop, but I don’t know what I’m looking at. Switched to plain pHed water in both buckets. The tomato is moving to her own space because it’s a bush.
Here is the Cake & Jack cross

The “bagler” is a purple pineapple bag seed. It’s still just being weird.
The :tomato: am actual tomato, German Johnson. Old seeds I wanted to see if it would grow.
Two Sour 60 are in the nursery, ready to go to the tent after the chop.

The largest plant and #2 were both males and ere fed to the chickens. I ended up switching the lights to 12/12 because nothing was happening and the large dude (who got culled for being a male) was taking literally forever. 2 weeks after I flipped everyone started to flower.

Looking forward to the dry and cure and finally a smoke!

Great work for your first time! Dwc can be very tricky. Here is a good picture to help guide your harvest timing.

Glad to see you back !

Can’t wait to see the buds on this one!
Should be a great daytime smoke…

If that’s elato cake and Jack here?
elato cake = (Gelato x Wedding cake)

Plant looks great.
Would love to see a close up of those buds.
Should be :fire:

Let me check my notes, but I believe I planted 2 of this cross and they were both male. I have more, so I’ll be sure to post those when they get popped!

My phone takes great close ups, so I’ll be sure to. I feel like it’s a good first try! Until then, here’s what greeted me when I looked up from my loop.

All hung, I’m going to come back and trim more. It can be very humid here in zone 7Bish so I’m a little concerned about molds.

Thank you everyone for your support! It seems like it’s been forever, but having the grow part of this grow accomplished is a nice feeling!

Bud shot! Its cured I’d say, it better be because we’re smoking it.
I think I over dried it, but put it in a jar with the humidity pack to cure and it seems pretty good! I love the smoke, we have only had weed from the dispensary for the last 3 or 4 years, so I’m very pleased!

Looks nice. Weed you grow yourself is the best weed you’ll ever smoke IMO…so what if it’s a little dry.
