My issues are twofold. I should be ok for height when I remove the shelf but I want 4ish colas per plant so I need to manage these two goals.
I’m going to chop them back and give them a week. It sounds like the best move.

I wanna say “grow em in a spiral” sarcastically but now i’m actually thinking about it…
I think they make grow stakes for this purpose exactly.
It’s quite funny. My last grows I’ve done on autopilot because I had everything dialed in. Now I’ve switched to a micro format and I’m dealing with all these issues I’m not accustomed to.
“Oh no my plants are too big and looking too good!”
Chop first, feed later; regret never.
I’m having the same problem plants have grown passed my lights lol I mite cut the tops off the plants
Took the shears to these plants today far to bushy and there 6ft tall,
Don’t cut them that far into flowering. Your only option is to try to bend and or tie them down.
I have clipped off the tops of flowering buds. Unsightly, but works fine. Not ideal but not the end of the world.
I’ve cut off kolas and the rest of the plant was fine fuxk I found 2 buds with mold on them this morning on one of my lambs breath/Romulan plants
The original lambs breath and Romulan plants I had trouble with mold,I wonder did the seeds I made carry that trait the other plant is fine, but I noticed when the plants are short and bushy they tend to get mold unless you trim a lot of leaves away from the main stalk,I’m just rambling lol
I am not saying it doesn’t work. I am saying based on those pictures it is going to drastically reduce yield.
I agree the plants will not die
This is true about the yield part, unless your like me and going to smoke all the weed by yourself,it is a pain in the ass when your plants start growing passed the lights
I topped mine and flipped to flower the day after.
That simply gave me twin colas.
Now I just noticed that they have noticably more frost than the single colas.
And fatter sugar leaves.
So from now on I’m flipping to flower immediately after the last topping.
Making a thread about it now.
Might not happen with every cultivar but it worked for my current grow which is most likely SourBluTooth.
