Thanks for that Picture
Itâs best to use a fabric pot so fungus gnats canât lay eggs in the holes in the bottom.
I water a little every two days, just a little, keeping top layers quite dry.
This thread is a hoot!
Folks, you either have a viable embryoâŚor you donât.
All the (cannabis forum) hocus pocus magic potions and (unfounded) feel good âthey sayâ, miracle methods wonât help bring an embryo out of dormancy if itâs not in a viable, healthy condition in the first place.
Case in point - in 2020 I hydrated 5 of my original C99 backcrosses I made about 20 or so years ago until they sank. No H2O2, no bleach treatments. Just dropped them into a small glass of filtered well water⌠occasionally poking them under, crying out in my usual sinister whine drown you wicked winch, drown! I then sowed them in tall 20 oz Styro-Cups after they sank which was by the next day.
All (5 seeds) germinated and grew well, 1 male and 4 females finished. Plants were stable, looked like clones regarding phenotype.
My old seeds, my old crosses, have been stored for over 20 years in a refrigerator in small baggies with a bit of rice. I can guarantee damn near 100% germ rates if I made and stored them. What someone gifts or sells me is another story.
Do not freeze your seeds and do not store them in some shoebox in your attic, please.
End of rant,
Uncle Ben
I think GreenSand is my new AzomiteâŚ
Thanks for that @Jimdoors
My understanding is they lay eggs on top of a moist medium. If you sanitize your soil (per my germination ditty) you shouldnât have a problem. They are mostly a nuisance but large numbers of larvae can damage roots which will stunt your faves.
They are just annoying af ! Especially if you have OCD! Always look forward to your input @OldUncleBen
Colorado has an abundance of rust, not avaliable iron. Careful who you listen to. Bioag and bas are one hell of a broscience combo.
