Growing Apps who use that?

So I was thinking and again, I don’t remeber when I placed my last beans and here I am looking at my diaries in OG.

Then I thought that there could be one or several mobile apps where we can record everything and keep some alarms or warnings to do specific stuff in each plant.

So I got around this app: Grow with Jane

Anyone use it?

Do you use any app for this propose?

Obviously I will keep sharing my diaries with OG but fast and simple access to plant info would be nice.

The only reason I don’t use apps is because I’m a paranoid weed smoker and most apps access additional data on your phone they don’t really need. Google and them can spy on me but weed apps are my arbitrary line.:yum: that’s really the only downside to them, and you don’t know who they share your info with.

I started with spreadsheets. One for seed bank, one for a grow log. It changed to one sheet per tent. That got overwhelming so a I made a little logging webapp with environments, plants, cultivars, photos, time stamps. I use it everyday and I would never go back to growing without it.

Before I made my own I tried two online grow log sites and a couple apps. I got frustrated not being able to do what I wanted with them.

Everyone should have some sort of log if for nothing else other than being able to go back in time and check recipes, schedules, and dates.

That is so true and another point I would bring further but you already did that are safety and information they gather.
For some it is legal, for most it is illegal so…

I haven’t installed or tried any online app, that is why I asked but I would like to have photo, shedule, watering warnings every x days after watering, and a simplify user interface where I can see azap the nutrients I will be ading next watering based on crossing tables. Simple stuff I can do myselft but again. if it is made already…

I’ve used the “grow with Jane” app before, and does pretty much much what you’re asking. I always liked it, being able to set up multiple rooms or tents on there… as well as individual plants in each room or tent. Has the ability to log your feeding schedules, how much of what specific nutes, temps, Humidity, flower/ veg cycles, also keeps track of individual days. I don’t remember why I ever stopped using it other than I probably just became lazy at that point in time lol

I believe there was a small learning curve getting used to all the different inputs, but I can’t remember anything negative about the app itself.

I keep a journal in Evernote, and put important dates(date flipped, date seeds popped, etc) in the calendar of the Pulse app.

I just downloaded Grobase. It actually has a forum button that leads straight to Overgrow and that’s how I got here lol. Also check out GrowDiaries.com. Not an app but pretty cool community strictly for diaries and grow contests. I’ve got one going on right now.

I use my thread as my information base of operations. Sometimes a bit messy but it gets the point across.

I have everything in OG, but I need to find my threads, then scroll and do some math, wanted a faster way, on the pocket.

I’m also pretty laissez faire and don’t care too much about a 2 degree drop in temp but that’s just my style. Plenty of good reasons to use a tracker app

I need a alarm to every watering or I will overwater the plants because I forget when was the last time and to check wich week they are so I can feed accordingly… But this on a grph form would be nice.

So I found this article it gave a pretty good description of all the apps that’ve been mentioned

Your info is stored in the “cloud” but given how many apps there are they can’t kick in all our doors. My grow just has to be smaller than yours😋

I have but found it annoying as I didn’t want to pay for the full version so I had a limited plant count to reference. There’s also A LOT of info you can record so my OCD started taking over and I ended up stressing out about logging when I was supposed to be enjoying my plants.

So i deleted it and bought a notepad with spiral binding and a pen and haven’t looked back. :+1:

Analog!

I have one too but it isn’t spiral because I’m left handed.

I really need to update and start making my apps… I am a old shcool guy that likes to be offline most of the time, little paranoic, so I think a offline solution with encrypted data on the phone acessible with a password to unlock the encription would work, few tables with grow spaces, plants, feeding shedule, and day readings recording. All combined with a graph layout per room and every room with percentage of time done behind and missing would do, maybe with some picture stickers on the graph, and the alarms. Not that much.

I’m trying grow with Jane. After a little research they do have an option to keep everything offline and on your device. Not sure I’ll use all the features but at the very least I like that it tracks the strain, breeder, environment and medium and then it tracks each part of the growth cycle and lengths of each cycle and then your harvest specs, dry weight and concentrate weight if I’m reading this correctly. That’s what I find most useful. It shows you the day counts and saves the manual calculations. I grow different strains every run so very useful to be able to quickly look back and see what might fit a given situation.

Thanks for starting this post. Turned this skeptic around :v:
