Hate hospitals

Glad your heading home! Enjoy and quick recovery!

Enjoy yourself at home and quick recovery Brother!!

Being a male, of an age group prone to substance abuse, who also happens to suffer from psychiatric problems and is a rapid metabolizer of most pain meds… fucking hate hospitals. Once you’re admitted and the nurses get to know you it’s not so bad.

But in the ER especially… They have be back there for hours. I can’t go hours out of the house without needing some medication of some sort. Ok, well perhaps they can let me take mine? No, no, nothing can be administered until we run tests and the doctor evaluates. I know that’ll be an hour or two. I’m almost always in for one of three chronic issues. But I digress. Nurses are my saviors usually. One day, I go in for chronic pancreatitis. I know exactly what’s up. I need pain meds and rest, change diet for a week or so. But they didn’t have a GI specialist at the hospital, the 2 are on vacation and the one on call is sick. Sooo we’ll just ship you 2 hours out of state to stay up there. (My mother who dearly would’ve loved to visit me was recovering from surgery and couldn’t drive). I was given no choice. I was only notified after arrangements were made and everything. So I’m about at my wits end here, and I ask the nurse, is there anyway I could get just 1mg of Xanax? I have a prescription and all. “Well you’re technically discharged here, but they can give you your dose there.” Well I explained that was not going to cut it. That’s a two hour drive and I haven’t even had time to process. She was understanding and talked to the doctor, and the got me squared away.

So yeah man, I fucking hate hospitals too. Honestly like a prison but more visitors.

My last stint in the hospital was a private room locked in for observation(kidneys, not my head y’all  ).
I was close to unscrewing the window frame.

Hospital director had to pursuade me I would die if I left  (hmm…)

At least I had a toxic vape pen. Opiates don’t replace weed, but weed replaces opiates. Hmmm

@potdaddy4x4 Damn, sorry to hear you’re having problems.

Last time I spent the night, they zapped me with more radiation, tried screwing with my pills, and offered me the un-healthiest food I’d eaten in years-

So, I’m with you, I hate hospitals too…

This could make a great movie! I can just see Kramer from Seinfeld or any other bozo in a bathrobe shuffling through with a big  bucket of popcorn, dropping bits here & there…

One of things I’ve noticed while working in a hospital is that CNAs are typically grouchy and miserable people. Pretty sure CNA stands for constantly negative attitude. Glad you’re home and away from those negative nancies. Get well, stay well :squid:

One point that I failed to make earlier, is that. as mediocre as Hospital food typically is,
the food served in nursing homes is substantially worse.
I needed to leave the nursing home twice for surgery, and both times I was able to stay at the hospital an extra day because the better hospital food was such a treat after having subsisted on the disgusting victuals offered in the nursing home. Really and truly nasty, bad food.
