I too consider myself an expert in that field of botany. :stuck_out_tongue:

Good looking plant you got there. What is she?

Thank you A sour 60, who’s on day 65 and still has a couple weeks in her.
The babies are a seed killing experiment I’m conducting. They are BOG Lifesaver x Mephesto Double Grape. I’m trying to breed the autoflower back into them.

Isn’t Sour 60 by @JohnnyPotseed an autoflower?

Yep, it sure is.
Not sure what’s going on? The Sour 60 is actually about a 70-75 day plant as far as I’ve been able to tell. i’ve mentioned that before in some threads here. So you’re using S-60 to try and bring another photo to an auto? @AppalachianBiscuits ?
That’s sounding like fun, lol I’m sure you know it’s only a 3 generation process, so you shouldn’t have any problem. We got faith in you, cuz!

That’s why I posted. I’m not quite sure what’s going on either, lol.
Speaking of the S60, and now that I know my STS works…I was thinking about making some fems outta them.:+1:

Yes,dirtmc i’m glad good training skills are going to be useful but I get a bit worried about going hard nutes. I agree with you kasper
Those photos look pretty good allpal especially for someone that’s new to autos I like the canopy and the one that’s flowering

Yes 3rdgen I agree my favourite weed, growing site sorry, I spelt your name wrong before appalachianbiscuit i’m a bit dyslexic specially when I’m stoned and if you think you and habitt hold the cup for killing plants Then you’re going to be in for a bit of competition with me in the room

Back around 2001/ 2002 I used to come in here At the time, I don’t think any of the seed banks had auto flowers
But there was a small group of overgrowers , I think they used to call themselves the low riders. I never spent Much time on their threads But basically they were trying to breed what we know today as autoflowers. I used to think they were chasing a dream that they wouldn’t realise. Guess they prove me wrong. There are some truly amazing people on this site

One thing I am wondering about: Is soil usually the preferred medium for autoflowers. ?
Intuitively, I would’ve gone cocoa fibre
because you need that fast vegetative growth But people seem to be doing really good with soil

Also, it’s starting to seem to me : when done right do autoflowers grow more robust in the vegetative stage than photoperiod plants?
Thanks

It is one of @JohnnyPotseed

I think this one’s going to get that mark too.

I wasn’t planning on using the S60, I’m not against it. I’m going to open pollinate this round, the BOG Lifesaver x Double Grape should be a good mix

I do too. I use maxibloom, and I basically sprinkle it in. I use 1/4 strength to start, and maybe 3/4 strength in flower.

I’m in DWC.

Yes and no? I was surprised how early they showed sex. And you don’t have a lot of time to play around in veg. There is no keeping mothers in veg, or cloning. Just plant your seed and come back later to harvest your bud!

Hope your buddy gets on OG there is a ton of information and great community

Yes I hope so too. I think he’s a bit paranoid to go on the Internet. But I keep telling him not to rely on my advice alone. Better if he listens to a few opinions.

@Red13 I agree with @DirtMcGirrt with the nutes. I was worried about over feeding but I’ve found most autos once into flowering will eat the same as my photos. Most of them at least. Start with lower nutes and build they don’t seem to be as finicky as when first became popular. That being said mo e slowly with nutes but once you see burnt tips back off.

No worries, I’ll keep my eye on how much nute they are eating. I’ll use my ppm stick to measure the strength of the nute coming out of the pots and compare it with what’s going in. And I’ll keep an eye on the new growth for nute burn

I’ve learnt some useful tips; things I didn’t know before. Even though I’m finding out this information to help a friend; I will have a go at auto flowers myself later this year when it warms up. thanks again to everybody
