I tried it. Doesn’t hold enough water, need to water constantly. Heavy.

I’m waiting till I find perlite. I’ll just have to deal with a bit of soil. Atleast its promix hp lol

Peat is 4.5 so they add lime to most Pro Mix like peat mixes.

You can use clay balls as the bottom layer, and/or mix the promix hp with the clay balls. It’ll be very similar to the “chow mix” coco/LECA.
LECA is alright but significantly more expensive than perlite. Only really makes financial sense if you use active hydro or reuse it.

I’ve got a bucket of the leka balls. The girlfriend ordered them fir her tropicals than barely used any. I’m going to hold out a few more days for perlite, then I’ll get creative
