Homemade charcoal air filter

its nice how the price has really gone down over the years, and yep, you can easily put them outside of your grow and push the air from inside through them out in reverse to save space. i try to squeeze mine to the top of the room/tent with the fan and just have the exhaust out so i dont have the extra noise but either way will work.

you may want to prefilter your air if you push the air out of the carbon filter outside of your tent/grow room to keep it from getting tooo dirty since the filters that mostly come with them are for taking air from the outside of the filter in (if that makes sense. If not let me know and i’ll add an image)

I simply attach poly batting sheet, cut to fit, to my lower tent intakes, on the outside, so any in coming air that has mites paragliding the currents, get grabbed, well in my wee brain anyway.
Poly batting has lots of uses for us, and if your making a filter, it is your friend to cover the outer layer or skin.

How’s that carbon filter work? I just bought the same one a few days ago. It has good reviews.

yep, pretty close to what i use. i run aquariums also so i already have this stuff and it works super to filter air and its cheap

If my memory serves me right, I’m sure the original OG covered a diy bucket filter, it might even still be on here, the idea in my head has two buckets together mouth to mouth

there is a joke in there somewhere

Not bad. I like it.

I didn’t know where my growing would go way back then and I pounded up some briquettes (no, no lighter fluid in them, darn messy) and enclosed them in cheap landscaping fabric (Dollar Store, so thin probably useless for landscaping). Small muffin fan pushing air through it. Handled four plants.

Darn, no picture of it together. Basically had the fabric keep the dust from flying and a long box to give the most surface area to grab the smell. Don’t know how long it would last though. I ended up not needing it as I have the exhaust ducted along side my house foundation. I have loose gravel along the outside of the foundation and the air sort of finds its way out and to the atmosphere. As they say, “the solution to pollution is dilution”.
