Can you rebuild carbon filters.
And very messy.
Not worth the effort
I have been reading. I have 10" x 24" filters. I’m thinking of leaving them intact and soaking/washing the whole shebang. Then putting them in my buddies bbq smoker to recharge them at 250°. Has anyone tried it like that?
No but would love to know the results keep me posted
Idk I hate buying carbon filters everytime I’m thinking to myself there has to be a better way
Put something in the smoker without even using it whatever you pull out is going to stink of bbq smoke. You want bbq smoke smell in your grow area?
Maybe grow strains that don’t smell so strong or a strain that has a fruit smell to it. Carbon filters ain’t that expensive really. I just replace mine every 2 grows. If you take into consideration what you’d save growing your own compared to buying it they are not that expensive really
Yeah it just one of those things. I’m the same with trash bags I hate buying things for the trash I guess lol thanks tho
I’m all for recycling and reusing stuff. I’m tight af. If I can save a few quid/bucks in someway I’ll find it. I’ve not found a way to do this with filters.
Seen a few YouTube vids on a diy filter. Might be worth a look
f*ck that ^^^^^^^^^
wiff wiff is that Mesquite
Hmmmmm let it soak in ro overnite and then some kind of centerfugaal force next day to remove water idk lol late here : )
My sense of smell is fucked with living a shitty life.
We could just hand out cocaine to everyone that’s within smelling distance and hopefully they end up with the same issues I’ve got
Be cheaper to buy as new filter lol
Mountain air carbon filters last a long time , cheaper in long run than the cheapos : )
Honestly the filter sits in the attic and exhausts. I’d rather the yard smell of ribs than dank buds
Currently running a 6 inch bay6 filter. Was cheap af. Can’t smell a thing and I’ve got that on good authority from someone without issues.
My main issue is that I don’t want to ship new filters here. And the ones at the grow shop are expensive as hell.
I was reading that to reactivate spent charcoal you wash it and soak it in bleach water (or other things) then bake it at 250 for a few hours to dry. Everything I read also says how messy of a job it is and that it is critical to repack the filter tightly, but not too tight. So I had the idea to wash and soak in the filter. Anyone have an idea of a cleaner way to bake the entire filter if it’s 2 feet long? Its funny this thread popped up. I have been pondering my next move as one filter is almost one year old
