What’s up everybody? I’m looking to get a chiller for my hydro setup and was curious who all is running them and are you happy with the one you have.
Also this might be a cool spot for anyone that needs a recommendation for a product or what have you to catalogue all of our wants and needs in one spot.
Anywho me first, CHILLERS!

I have an ActiveAqua 1/4hp on a 5x5 and it’s plenty big enough. It keeps the water at 68º consistently. I am super glad that I bit the bullet right off the bat when I started growing hydro.

My buddy used frozen water bottles in his resevior and changed them out throughout the day two times might be a pain but might be cheaper for you
Yeah. I tried the frozen water bottle route. I’m not home long enough to keep that routine up. The gallon sized ice cubes would melt within 30 mins or so and only dropped temps by a few degrees.
@Frankken_Ford how many gallons are you cooling down?

Just get the right size and clean it regularly like everything else. I have one in the garage somewhere that’s been used for maybe 5-10 hours total. I was thinking of just hooking it up to the res, but more electricity and I like my super stable pH. Plus, the water is 70* in there already, so not much need.

Word. I need this thing super bad for just a couple of summer months. During the fall and winter, we keep our house at 65°. It’s an absolute magic time to flower and dry. Aa

Rubbing it in hard. Haha I’d need mini-splits all over the house and to be cranking the central a/c to be at 65* almost anytime of the year.

Don’t feel too bad. I got my first FL electric bill the other day. I just noticed that they jacked up peak pricing to like 22¢ per kwh. I was running all kinda shit like a hog. My last bill doesn’t even make any sense.

Lol. Nah. It looked like a Florida bill, though.
