Lots of water for transpireation will keep the leaf temperature down but you have to back off the nutriment uptake to match.

I use that method with plain water and mollasses to use up any nutes in soil. Excellent
I had a real battle with heat last grow with a dry hot summer, and the best I could come up with was a “swamp cooler” made from a large styrofoam box filled with frozen water bottles, 1.5 litre plastic ones, and a duct from it to the tent. It does need a fan to push air through it, and I’ve since read that your exhaust fan can be used but I used a 6" clip fan. It helped but an AC unit is obviously better.
Very cool passive wasn’t working so you got some pull in… I’m doing something similar with an ac didnt have a dehumidifier handy at that site.
Do you have a build or any pics?
Are you exhausting somewhere away from the grow…outside, attic? Is your exhaust fan sufficient for the tent / room?
I probably wont be able to grow this summer, beginning of June and we were already in triple digies
Sealed and insulated room, window AC, and CO2 do the trick for me. With LEDs and CO2, I run my room about 81-84°F.
have central air, thought about putting in a window unit in “the room” but I only grow for me and really it makes it cost to much. I have spider farmer leds and cmh, going back to more cmh or hps probably DE
Since i added the leds and cut the cmh my flowering time went way up.
I built 2 7x9 rooms in my unattached garage and also finished the rest of the garage. This allowed me to insulate well and put a ceiling in that I also insulated and used to vent the heat of my 1000 hps lamps into. I also put in gable ends and a peak vent to release the heat from the attic area. I am now slowly going into led lighting to help even more. I have also purchased 3 mini-split systems to control the heat and humidity. It was all very costly but now I can run year round without a problem.
I was thinking along the same lines…it’s hot as hell here already too. But that just means my central air runs most of the time during lights on. After I knocked out the closet ceiling light and ran the exhaust into the attic my heat problems are gone. 84 highest I’ve seen in weeks. My passive intake is ducted from right near the closet ac vent.
Another thing that may help is running the lights off during the hottest part of the day. Here thats 4:00 PM, so I run my lights 10pm-10am.
I draw cooler air from the basement into the tents, I exhaust hot air out to the outside, all that was close to free, just the ducting costs, and i own two nice window units already. Its just the increase in the electric bill. My central air is very low also as i was in a fire and have a outa whack comfort zone, but even a slightly hotter summer then normal gives me issues. I run alot of light.
I get that. I was unfortunate enough to be in a house fire as well. Had to toss my baby out the upstairs window to someone below, then jump out after. It has since passed but I was very skittish for years about all things potentially fire related. Scary stuff. I ignored the, if a door is stuck don’t force it open rule, and got blasted by a force that I could only compare to getting stuck in hurricane waves surfing back in the day when I was young and dumb.
I lost the flesh from my hands, part of my face and back and shoulders was a building though, and was trapped inside, but since then my temperature comfort range is outa whack, people come in mt\y house they freeze in the summer and are cool in the winter
by my thermostat and thermometers i am cold and shivering at about 59 degrees F and im sweating at 70F
Oh wow you meant physically, I’m sorry to hear that my friend.
I broke down crying driving down the highway like a week later when it hit me how lucky we were that my wife woke up in time, just in time, to avoid disaster. Whole building was a fire ball within 5 minutes of us getting out.
no worries happened , over it sorta, worse has happened before and after, also my day starts at 7pm trying to save on heat, even in the summer its cooler at night
I’ve run similar times with my lights as well @ReikoX, lights off during the hottest times of the day.
Cheers Johnny
