AIC has been my favorite band forever. Sean Kinney is a hell of a drummer too! I wouldn’t say underrated, more overlooked. The Metallica guys are friends with the band and Lars said at one point he had amassed a giant kit thinking it would give him more options and improve his drumming but then saw what Sean was doing on a standard kit and had an epiphany. He said he went home after seeing them play and threw out all the extra BS from his kit and made the focus the playing rather than the accessories.
I remember that… Lars adopted back to the simplicities of drumming… I’m a lifelong drummer … and I agree… alice in chains drummer was very under-rated not noticed like he should have been… Sean was phenomenal Nothing compares to bands like these… or the creativity they have… now a days it’s like fast food… quick cheap shit
Keith Moon! (my alltime fave) Carmine Appice. Terry Bozzio. Billy Cobham. Stewart Copeland. Aynsly Dunbar…and Sly Dunbar. Topper Headon. Vinnie Coliauta. Elvin Jones. Ginger Baker. John Bonham…off the top of my head.
You got that right @CanuckistanPete .
I love the stuff you come up with @Heliosphear .
I have to try an AI generator. That’s all there is to it. I’m dirt poor so finding a good free generator might be like that needle in the proverbial haystack. I’ll mess around with a lesser one if need be though.
Drums was my first instrument. In 5th grade they announced try outs for drums for school band. I had no interest in school band but I definitely had an interest in drums so I gave it a shot. 3 spots and almost 30 kids tried out. They really just tested your ability to keep time and how quick you picked up some basic stuff and I got picked. I stuck with it long enough to convince my folks to buy me a drum set and immediately dropped band. I wanted to play Nirvana and STP songs, not the Jurassic Park theme at school concerts
I only stuck with it for a few years before guitar caught my interest but any time I get a chance to hop on a kit I take it. I have a kit now but no room to set it up unfortunately. I’m a much better guitar player anyway though.
Danny Carey is the man! His drum tech was Bonham’s drum tech so that alone says something. Neil Peart was amazing but I hate Rush.
Tool Is my all time fav along with rush… I know you know my icon on here is the lateralus album alex grey art…lol… peart and Carey are both very hard to replicate
I really like Tools music, but for some reason their shows dont do it for me. Rammstein is like that too. Very hypnotic marchy type stuff. Actually Rammstein is kinda cool watch. They do some crazy shit.
