In the area my tribe calls home, everyone calls each other ‘cuz’ it’s a regularly heard word there. Mainly because most of us ARE ‘cousins’ or some relation. lol
It’s gotten to be used more often here, it’s an honorific (respect) like ‘bro’ or ‘dude’ just a bit more
That’s the Lumbee Tribe of North Carolina, tribal seat is Pembroke, NC
The wife is full blood, I’m a mutt (mixed breed, half Lumbee) all of us, our kids, her and me, are registered tribal members
