That’s cool. I usually don’t start feeding that soon, but I start my seeds in Happy Frog and perlite. So it already has a couple weeks of nutes.
I was mainly referring to how easy it is to over water at this stage.
Excuse me, but did I miss that these are 3 weeks old?
They should be bigger by now. Hmmm. Watering with coffee. Hehe. My mom said coffee stunts your growth. Never mind.
Something don’t seem right here. How much light and for how long?
300 ppfd 16/8 hours… no coffee, just for me
@BigMike55
That sounds too bright to me… Maybe 100 would do your babies better?
I can’t imagine your ph locking out your nutrients, yet. What kind of soil is that and are you ph’ing your water?
What Mo said. Depending on distance from light to plant. If its real close, like 12 inches or less you don’t need as bright.
For instance I’m using a 100 watt led bulb with the plastic cover pulled off. About a foot from the clones.
@BigMike55 lol answer yer phone, brother!
Just got back from lunch , while there I measure the light and it was at 255ppfd so I lowered it to 105. All the water I use for watering seedlings and the next stage is distilled so it should be 7, I will put the meter in it tonight.
To germinate I used the paper towel with distilled water and then they went to a seedling mix, compost, vermiculite, perlite and small amount of Dr Earth Organic herb blend.
@MoBilly @BigMike55 @JohnnyPotseed
This one looks like it grew an inch since this morning. I fed them around 10AM this morning and it’s now 2:20PM.
7? the Ph should be around 5.8 - 6.2 give or take
7 is perfect for humans, lol not so much for plants.
6 is your prime target. that’s barely within the parameters of ‘good’, but a lot better for the plants than 7!
My meter is broken. The best I can tell on my ph is somewhere around 6.0 to 6.5. But I’m just using the color chart right now.
So this 2 week seedling looks stunted? From the soil to the top of the plant is 3 inches, what is normal?
Bro you should make your own grow thread…
I agree with @Rabeats2093 here, my friend. Get a grow log going and you’ll gather plenty of advice, lol some good, some maybe not so good. Pick what you want to use and don’t sweat the rest. I’m sure folks are well meaning, even if the advice doesn’t fit your precise needs atm.
At 2 weeks old they should be a bit bigger. But as long as they’re healthy, I say don’t sweat a slow start.
Agreed. Just look at how long it took mine to reach a point where I was ready to flip. Just keep moving forward. Tag me in when you get your grow journal started if you want.
They’re not doing bad. Didn’t the beans just arrive 11 days ago?
lol I didn’t check dates! My mistake. Them things are right where they should pretty much be. I just took what ya said…
Yes… I had to go back and look at that page in my grow book. They actually broke through the soil on 2/3/2024 so that puts them at 1 week not 2…
But I have a valid excuse, DULOXETINE has made me stupid and I also walk funny. I am in the process of weening off of it but it will be another week before I am off it. And probably another two week getting my feeble brain back.
So Sorry @JohnnyPotseed , @MoBilly , and @BigMike55 I was just wrong on the age.
So here is where I am, 1 week old Frankie’s that I fed 1/4 strength fish fertilizer and it appears that one them grew 1 inch in about 5 hours so I hope I have not killed them. Fingers crossed I should probably know over the next few days.
Also, I will start a grow log thread on OG Growroom Diaries and if it is OK I would like to tag you guys and invite you to stop in and give me any and all feedback.
Thanks for your feedback @NDNCHILD you have a very good memory and I am jealous as hell that I don’t but who knows… Maybe it will get better when that evil pharma drug lets go of me…
Thanks everybody.
Well, hopefully they survive the early feeding. Just glad it was only 1/4 strength and only fish ferts! If they do happen to keel over n die, just lemme know and I’ll shoot ya another pack of em to replace, since you only followed what I said., I feel responsible some.
