Johnnypotseed’s 3-ring circus - with autos, photos & sex…reversals, that is! (Part 7)

Yeah I have owned em all too. To me a Bike needs to “Fit me and how I want to ride”…

Back in 2002 my best friend and I took a cross country trip from Pensacola, Fl out to the Grand Canyon and back over a 10 day period. I bought a Kawasaki Nomad 1500 with hard bags and floor boards. That was the most comfortable road bike I ever owned. 5,000 miles in 10 days makes a person appreciate, “comfortable”… Big fat seat with back rests and highway pegs…

That was the two stroke right? I had a friend that had one of those, that was a fast bike. My 250 was a 4 stroke, and it was a thumper.

My son bought a Suzuki Hayabusa and that motorcycle scared the crap out of me!

Have not been on one since, way too much power for an old fart like me… Now when I was in my twenties I would have been trying to figure out how to make it go faster and probably be dead.

Don’t you remember those days when it was not quite fast enough?

I had the Penton in the mid 70s, when living down in Padre island/Corpus Christi ran it in a few dirt track races in Flowers… between CC n PI
Some crazy ass fun! lol I was around 25, young n dumb n fulla myelf.

I tried one of those crotch rockets one time, I couldn’t get past the almost laying down with my weight on my arms. Seemed pretty uncomfortable to me.

Here was my favorite motorcycle the day I bought it back in 2000. Getting ready for a cross country trip. Comfortable, not a crotch rocket LOL.
