Rest easy big guy.
Have a good night buddy
Good morning Johnny, good morning OG’s. Have a great day.
good morning @JohnnyPotseed , @Greenfingers and OG!
Good morning OG
Good morning JP and OGs
The humidity will be creeping up all day and by next week we should be feeling like summer. Hope everyones coffee is deliciously smooth and strong!
Good Morning OG!
Son finished the majority of what needed done to the ‘new’ truck yesterday. Odds n ends only left now, so we got it back and are gonna break it in with a ‘maiden voyage’ to visit @Guitarzan and his lovely wife. Gotta pick up some pollen for use in some crosses!
Oldest son has been getting it done in his spare time, which wasn’t much! lol we’ve been using his pickup as a loaner while he got ours right for us. He says the AC will run ya outta thisun! I’m sure glad about that! Gonna be needed today… 93-95 with heat index of 100+/- UV index 9-10.
Good morning JP and OGs. Good news about your ride brother!! Like everybody else has said sounds like summer is upon us so stay cool out there!
Good morning JP and all of OG! Strong AC in a vehicle is a MUST have if at all possible . Glad to hear your son got you going in the new to you rig! Heat index of 100+ is not my favorite…but I’m a bit further north so I like it cold, lol. You all have a great day!
He’s gonna take a break from ours, lol and get some other things done at his place for the next few weeks. The next time-off for him is the week of July 4th and he’ll finish everything left on our truck then. Him and the shop owner he contracts for say this thing will be good for a few hundred thousand miles with regular maintenance. 2005 Chevy Silverado,4dr, short bed… the Vortec motor (350)
It needed a lot of TLC, lol I’ve owned more Silverado’s than anything else, it’s my fav
Had a 2001 Chevy pickup years back, was a great truck!!
This is my 6-7th Silverado over the past 45-50 years. Prefer the older ones, but this was what we found in our price range after looking for several weeks, all we had to do was pay for parts (with a shop discount at parts store) labor was free. If not for the help of our son n the shop owner, it wouldn’t have happened.
130k miles, low for a 2005. It had a lot issues, lol but the son took care of them without much hassle.
I’ll take a few pics when we get out of here later this morning
Them Vortec 5.3s seem like they can run forever dang near. Pretty tried and true small block chevy tech that’s been refined over and over. Oh nice, pics or it didn’t happen as the kids say. lol.
Good morning Johnny, and the rest of the Circus.
Wow, 130k miles on an 05 is low. That’s pretty sweet that you found that.
Glad to hear that you have it road ready.
new tires, brakes, brake cylinders on back, wheel bearings all around, new battery, new windshield (cracked all the way across) master cylinder/booster leak, tune up, front end rebuilt, some oil leaks taken care of (oil pan, timing cover, valve cover) tune up, AC fixed, door locks, very minor sundry other stuff. Like oil/filter change and tranny fluid/filter change
Leather interior with the driver seat a bit rough on outer edge.
Son went over everything from stem to stern and got all covered proper.
edit… he has a nice rear bumper to install in place of the roll pan that’s on it. That’s one of the minor things he’ll do first of July.
lol I’m gonna steal a line from @BigMike55 … Johnny be happy!
Morning everyone.
That is great that Jr.put that truck back on the road. And kudos to that shop owner. Hope you will bless him with a couple lids of top shelf buds.
I’m the ‘Jr’, son is 3rd.But I gotcha brother, lucky to have him to help me out here, since I can’t get into the mechanic work anymore! The guy that owns the shop son contracts mech work from has him do all sorts of stuff on his and his grandson’s motorcycles, so it’s a ‘tit-for-tat’ thing there! lol He does like the son & his work.
My 12 year old granddaughter Kaila is 5’7"!
