We used to drink beer and watch them develop. Good times.

How would you guys go about watering these? I just planted the tap roots yesterday and I noticed the moisture on the walls was gone today probably because the seedling mat and Iā€™m thinking how am I going to water these without disturbing the seeds you know since now the soil has dried up a bit its all going to kinda bubble and shift the soil before settling in any tips? I could water very very slowly I was wondering if thereā€™s maybe a small gentle watering can someone here uses that may be ok the ones I have are all larger and drip really bad I just need that real gentle rain effect

I drizzled a tiny mixture over them thatā€™s why itā€™s slightly moist in the pics

I use a spray bottle to moisten the soil without disturbing the seeds.

This is what Iā€™ve been doing lately. One dude does it with a tablespoon of water, simulating easy drops of rain, and pushing out big air pockets.

ahh both viable ideas Iā€™m going with the spray bottle Iā€™ve got an empty one on hand thanks guys :call_me_hand:t2:

Does that look like to much humidity? They were sprouted this morning forgot to check again last night itā€™s going on the second day in the pots so I donā€™t think itā€™s lack of light itā€™s only been a day at most without light I checked yesterday morning and didnā€™t see any sprouts.

I think seedlings like lots of humidity. Where is it at?

In a humidity dome I opened and and waved in some fresh air and moved them under the 650r seemed to have perked up and gained some green back Iā€™m so bad at keeping them watered they either get to much or not enough canā€™t seem to get it right canā€™t wait to have the shed in full bloom Iā€™ll be able to control the environment a lot better

OldRon likes to use a small spray bottle to keep them moist, but overwatering at bay as well. You can always add a little hydrogen peroxide to help control damping off in seedlings.

I did use hydrogen peroxide for around 30 mins then rinsed

I mix it with my water, when I water seedlings. No rinsing required.

You rinsed the seeds?

Forgot to add these yesterday theyā€™re looking fine idk if it was no light or to much humidity Iā€™ve never let them go that long not being under a light it was only a day between checking them but I do struggle with water idk why itā€™s such a pain for me lol

Oh you straight water with it? Why? I read to soak them for a bit to kill any pathogens then to rinse and finish soaking them in plain water I do this for about a day once they sink then I move them to a moist paper towel in a bag barley cracked

It will help supply air to the roots and kill the pathogens that cause damping off. Since fungus spores are all around, and possibly in the soil, this can be helpful. I believe I lost 2 or 3 seedling in my first tent grow, and I lost 0 when employing this technique. I canā€™t remember how much to add to the waterā€¦

It doesnā€™t mess with a living soil?

My seedling mix is 1/4 peat, 1/4 ewc, 1/4 compost, 1/4 perlite. Even if it kills the micro life, once I transplant them to the living soil, it will be repopulated. Since I start them in a small pot, I donā€™t worry about that too much compared to damping off. I only use it for the first week or so when they are susceptible to damp off.

One source said 2 teaspoons of 35% peroxide per gallon of water.

I also found info about the soak and rinse you spoke of. I soak in labs to start seeds. Lots of people use peroxide.

Idk Iā€™m not an expert (obviously) but I like the idea of the roots establishing soil to root relationships with the myco asap so I soak them in my own mixture of freeze dried aloe, freeze dried coconut, plant probiotics, rootwise mycrobe complete and biocatalyst after the initial quick soak in peroxide it seems to work idk if its any better than plain water but the only issues Iā€™ve had with seeds not sprouting seems to be from older batches which I suppose would be normal or I soak the soil to much and kill them off by accident but with the water bottle it should help me from getting them to wet

Iā€™m no expert either, but I myko the roots in the first transplant. Iā€™ve been transplanting twice. I do know it takes a bit for the symbiotic relationship to form.

Nice!

Similar protocol here, H2O2 to prevent damping off and then myco a few days later. :+1:
