Do anything in particular or just LIFTA?

Nothing in particular no besides the male seems to not like the sunlight it drooped again as soon as the sun came out earlier

Gotta let them get used to sunlight a few hours at a time. Keep it in shade and move it in the sun for a few hours, then add an extra hour every day?

It was a little sunny earlier off and on but it’s mostly overcast all day and I think it’s supposed to be like that the next couple days

Maybe keep it in full shade until it perks up again, wait until it asks for light, then introduce to sun for one hour and see what happens.

A lot bigger than they were before putting it in the 300 gallon bed I didn’t get a pic but there was a nice root ball and could see one of the roots was the width of a small pen

The male started perking up a bit trying to grow towards the sun I just left him the whole time since he seemed to recover during the night a bit and he’s not drooping so bad anymore but leaves are curled like a mother

Another week and it will be fine, once it gets its roots re set, it will soon take off.

Knew it might snow last night but the weather wasn’t freezing so I was curious to see what these girls would do it’s going to get below freezing tonight so I will stick them in the garage

Let’s see if they like it rough. I like what you’re doing.

Lol I seen an article the other day about growing in cold weather and seen this other thing this guy grow tropical fruits and plants in the dead of winter (oranges, etc.) and all he’s doing is blowing some air around underground with a fan from the geothermal heat so I wanted to see whatbeould happen also another thing I’m coming to find is they seem to grow better in cooler temps than I wouldve originally guessed them to like (70-80f) maybe it’s the VPD difference from the RH? Yes I know snow is a bit extreme but it’s all experimental just to see what will happen :v:t2::kissing_closed_eyes::dash::dash:

I’ve watched video’s of that geothermal concept too, it’s neat!
This lady has made a whole bunch of interesting video’s, all kinds of cool, creative stuff: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCDsElQQt_gCZ9LgnW-7v-cQ

Most plants will thrive anywhere between 10 and 30 celsius.

So I got two things for ya with that outdoor frost.
One. Hugelkultur

Two. Was listening to GML show the other day and a guy on there was adamant about making the plant wet as it apparently gives the plant a buffer against freezing… apparently it takes more energy to take water from 1C to 0C and actually freeze it than it does to take water down to 1C from 100C!

All your plants in your big bed seem to be looking great tho!

Interesting… and snow isolates the plant from the wind as well. And as it melts there’s a constant stream of water sliding down the surface of the plant, slowly watering the soil, which protects the roots from freezing. It makes sense.

Should come with a warning don’t try this at home .

Interesting stuff guys will have to check those videos when I get home. The hugelkuktur makes sense never thought of that the compost is putting of heat
