So I drenched the soil with SNS 209 to see what affect is has on any gnats in the soil and any remaining mites in the plants. Time will tell.
never used it, but my nephew swears by it
Hi there, thought Iâd weigh in since no one else has mentioned Grow Safe in this thread.
I recently battled a fierce Spidey infestation in my grow room. I caught it early, noticed one little set of leaves spotted, used the microscope to look at the tiny black dots and realized what was going on. In checking further I noticed that a little closet area was filled with the Spidey Army on the march. Thousands of them, really creepy.
I had the Grow Safe product on hand from an earlier battle and after mixing up a few oz I applied it everywhere using an electric fogger. The fogger isnât necessary but it makes the job easy by filling the room with an aerosol gas version of whatever you are dispensing.
An hour later the invasion troops were all dead. Instant kill on contact. The main thing about spider mites is that you need repeated applications. By the time you notice them, they will have laid eggs, so you can kill the adults but then the eggs hatch and you are back to square one. Standard procedure is at least three applications spaced three days apart. This is critical because the little shites also develop resistance very quickly too whatever you are using to kill them.
That episode was a month ago and I havenât seen any sign of them since.
Grow Safe is a very effective product, developed by the Israelis, it uses corn & soybean based oils and can be used right up to harvest.
Cheers,

PS, I have NO affiliation with the Grow Safe company or product, just a satisfied customer.

Itâs an oilsoap product, like so many others. Vegetable oil and an emulsifier, maybe some essential oils. If someone insists on using oil/soap products, you can make your own for pennies.
Any product âfor spider mitesâ will work if the repeated application process is followed through. Must be reapplied for egg hatches⌠over the course of a couple weeks. Standard spider mites are not difficult.

As the Rightful Lord of Flavortown, I demand fealty and a portion of your harvest. But only if the flavor is âso moneyâ.
Bend the knee to the one with the Frostiest Tips and youâll know my f(l)avor. Refuse, and youâll end up in exile, like Emeril.
You are exactly right man. Itâs expensive to buy, but cheap to make.
I made 7 gallons for concentrate the other day. It had like 6 bucks in chemicals, a jug and a half of canola oil, and several gallons of ro water. If you are gonna use it, just make it.
By the way, long time no see, howâs it going man?
Aww pretty decent, still out here living my best mite-free existence. Wishing the snow would stop and melt. Got some mild frostbite blisters from grabbing a big chunk of wet calcium chloride de-icer with no gloves (careful with that stuffâŚapparently lol) so thatâs fun. How you be?
You know, rolling blackouts, and an excuse to skip work. Not bad
Glad I like my wife, or I would be going to work
Would wild praying mantis be safe to catch and use for indoor if no pesticides were used in grow area? Only wondering because Iâve koticed tons around yard in summer(especially against house when mowing) and if there isnât high risk of disease or other pests coming along for the ride Iâd be willing to give it a shot.
interesting, i would try it, but no expert, used ladybugs before, that was fun, not as effective but fun
