Ok this is problem that is super common now days…i know…i know…there is no heat like a hps…it doesn’t matter…its a wavelength we dont see that burns them. It will present like a nutrient disorder…or ph…or bugs…or mold…and all of the above!!! There is a happy spot…think higher for veg…and close as possible for flowering…so do it very gradually…until you see problems or are happy…because…the wavelength you need for flowering is a much smaller square under your light…so remember this when buying or setting lights. And please im not doing the research for you…Google led light burn. Good luck my green thumbed friends
Look for canoeing too, where the edges raise up.
I believe its the far red spectrum causing the water molecules to heat up in the cells themselves, kinda like a microwave for lack of a better analogy.
I’ve run over 15 different strains under modern led panels ( Mars hydro ts 1000’s) and I’ve found some strains react differently than others under them. For example blueberry gum needs to be at the edges, at least 24" from the panels or it burns and conoes in a day or 2. Freakshow can be 6 inches away from the panels, but it stretched twice what any other plant did during early flower (again I believe the far red to be the culprit). Those are 2 that went to extremes, but there is definitely variance in reaction to LED between strains.
First run under a DIY Bridgelux.
Big difference on light tolerances between strains! Sour Strawberries at the lower end showing foxtailing, tacoing and other signs. The Jamaican plants love it up close and personal.
That’s telling me I need different light settings. Probably grouping by latitude of parent stock for the landrace preservation and educated guesses for the polyhybrids.
Cheers
